I continuously stared at the message on my phone screen. A surprise?

What kind of surprise?

Which surprise?

The message I sent hadn't even been seen yet, let alone replied to.

I had the urge to call the number, but twice I stopped myself, realizing it might get me into trouble.

Who the hell is this? And why would they send me this message out of nowhere?

Suddenly, I heard a loud knock on my door, and I flinched. I got up and opened it, only to find Alara standing there, her usual grin plastered across her face.

"Hey, you're back, Fria." She instinctively hugged me, and I wrapped my arms around her as well. "I know this so-called honeymoon would be hard for you to bear, but I promise no one will talk to you badly while you're in this house."

I was overwhelmed by her words, and tears fell down my cheeks. She was one of the few people in this house who treated me kindly.

Baris and Derin had also spoken to me gently when I was feeling low.

Wait, should I ask Derin about this number? Could it be some kind of danger?

Alara would be my only other option, but she wouldn't be able to help, she'd only worry about me.

As our hug broke, Alara noticed the tears in my eyes. "No, Fria, please don't cry. You don't look good when you're crying." I smiled softly at her comment.

I excused myself from Alara and walked towards Derin's room. I knocked on the door but got no response.

I knocked again. Still nothing.

Just then, a house help was walking towards the terrace. I called out to her. "Is Derin at home?" I asked.

She shook her head. "Derin sir hasn't been home for two days, and Azra ma'am has been getting restless because of it."
