When Josie got home she was met with her mother standing next to the couch with disappointment on her face.

"Josephine Carpenter!" She shouted, making the girl flinch in her spot. Her mom rarely raised her voice at her daughter, there was never any reason to.

"Can you please tell me why you're involved in a murder case." Cameron said sternly, Josie flinched and looked down, "I'm sorry-" she was cut off by her mom.
"Sorry won't cut this." Cameron said before facing the girl. "You are grounded. Go to your room." She shouted before walking away leaving the girl in tears.

The next day at school was terrible for the girls. Their pictures lined up on the newspaper as they were getting blamed for the death of Karen.

"Have you guys seen this?" Mouse asked as she walked up to the girls who were together looking at the newspaper in Faran's hand.
"Way ahead of you, Honrada." Noa said as she moved closer to Josie.
"'Let's hope the disciplinary committee makes the right decision and demands these bullies' immediate expulsion.'" Faran read out loud.

"We are so dead." Mouse said.
The girls all sighed as they looked at the people around them. Some glanced at the group and some reading the paper.

Josie was at her locker avoiding any looks she was getting when she felt someone grab her arm.
She looked up to see Dallas standing there avoiding eye contact.

"Hey, you've been avoiding my calls and texts. What's up." She said as she closed her locker. Dallas looked down before dragging her into an empty classroom.
"Ohh? what're gonna do? Hack me into pieces, put me in a pie." she joked and laughed, but stopped when she saw that he wasn't laughing.

"Dal, what's wrong?" she said, Dallas held her hands, "My mom, read the newspaper." he said which made her sigh.
"I guess we can put that on the list of why she hates me." Josie said, "Look, Jo, the reason i haven't been responding is," He looked at her, Josie tilted her head.

"My mom. She told me to ignore you, she said that you're dangerous and a bad influence.." He said which made her let go of his hands. She took a step back, "so you just, listened?"
Dallas sighed, "I wasn't-"

"Oh bullshit." She cut him off, "Just cause your mommy said so? Unbelievable." Josie scoffed before walking away. As she went to open the door, Dallas grabbed her wrist, "Jo listen-" she cut him off again, "No. Talk me when you actually want to talk." she told him before turning around and leaving him alone in the classroom.

Later that day, Josie was cleaning the kitchen. After she dried her hands there was a knock on her door.
Her mom had went to sleep already so she knew that it wasn't her.
