Prompt: The world is in black and white until you meet your soulmate.

Kara had always seen shades of grey. She had come to terms with the fact that this would always be her reality. Then, she bumped into the most gorgeous woman she had ever seen and only one thing crossed her mind. Golly.

Kara fidgeted impatiently as she waited for Cat Grant's coffee order. As her assistant, she was assigned to bring her coffee every morning at 9 a.m. before starting her day. Kara was proud to be a very punctual person. However, this morning, her patience was being tested. Not only the person right before her was awfully long, but the coffee machine was capricious, meaning Kara was most likely going to be late. And Cat Grant hated not having her coffee.

This day was already promising to be stressful. After her morning meeting with Cat, she was set to interview Lena Luthor concerning her recent relocation to National City. Cat wanted the scoop before anyone else and she proved once again that she had the best contacts in the country because Lena Luthor herself had accepted the interview when all the other magazines got denied.

The blonde had done some research and found herself quite intrigued by the young Luthor. The reporter had read countless articles about the Luthor family but very few mentioned Lena. She had been in the spotlight only recently after her brother's arrest and her new CEO status. Even then, all the articles only tried to show her in a bad light. However, instead of convincing Kara that Lena was like her family, the blonde felt sad. Lena was trying so hard to prove she wasn't like the Luthors and no one was giving her a chance. Kara had stared for hours at a picture of Lena in a newspaper, her heart breaking at the sadness and loneliness hidden behind the fake smile. That was one of the reasons why she had accepted to meet Lena: she needed the woman to know at least one person wasn't against her.

Fifteen long minutes later, Kara finally had the coffee in hand. Paying and tipping generously, as usual, she turned around and hurried towards the door. She hadn't taken three steps when she bumped hard into someone and her drinks spilled on the door.

« Oh for Ra- God's sake! » Kara groaned.

Her rising anger was quickly turned off when she heard a pained whimper. She looked down and saw that a young woman had fallen on the floor. The gorgeous brunette was holding her nose as blood flooded the floor.

« Oh no! » Kara exclaimed, finally connecting the dots, « I am so sorry! » She kneeled next to the woman and took out tissues from her bag. « Here, press that against your nose and we can take you to the hospital! »

The woman only groaned and reached out to grab the tissues. Kara looked at the woman and was struck by a sense of familiarity. She was about to say so when two things happened. The woman's fingers brushed her own, sending a wave of warmth through her whole body and they locked eyes.

Kara's world exploded in colors. Golly.

Lena was having a bad day. Not that her days were usually bright but this one was particularly bad.

One, her driver couldn't make it to her house to pick her up due to N.C.'s disastrous traffic this morning. Meaning she had to go on her own. Meaning she couldn't use the usual twenty minutes of the car ride to get a head start and arrive at L-Corp already in her work mindset. Two, she had a call from Jess who told her the lab had to be shut down due to a malfunction risking an explosion and couldn't be reopened until tomorrow. One productive day was lost. Three, and worst of all, she hadn't had coffee and it was showing on her brain. She couldn't get rid of the sleepiness that clouded her mind and she groaned after reading the same message three times without understanding a word.
