Josuke hurried down the hall, trying to find Okuyasu before lunch ended. His heart was pounding, not just from the brisk pace but from the events that had happened earlier. He turned a corner and saw Okuyasu sitting under their usual tree in the courtyard, staring fixedly at his phone. Taking a deep breath, Josuke approached, feeling the weight of the upcoming conversation.

"Hey," Josuke said softly, stopping in front of Okuyasu.

Okuyasu looked up, his expression guarded. "Hey."

Josuke could see the hurt in Okuyasu's eyes, and it twisted something inside him. He sat down next to Okuyasu, close enough to touch, but not reaching out just yet. "Can we talk about what happened earlier?"

Okuyasu sighed, putting his phone down and turning to face Josuke. "Yeah, I think we need to."

Josuke nodded, trying to gather his thoughts. "I know it must've looked bad when you saw me talking to Yukako. But I swear, it's not what you think."

Okuyasu eyes flickered with a mix of emotions. "It looked like you were both flirting, you were nervously smiling, Josuke. You were standing so close to her. It just...it hurt to see."

You would think that Okuyasu had nothing to worry about, as Yukako was a girl and they were a gay couple, but Josuke is bisexual, he dated a few girls in the past, his charisma, charms and good looks attracting all genders.

Josuke reached out, taking Okuyasu's hand in his. "I know it must have looked bad, but she was just making silly embarrassing jokes about me, and I laughed, it was nothing really" Josuke sighed, "I'm surprised you're upset about this"

This was unlike Okuyasu, he looked absolutely heartbroken and hurt, nearly tearing. This impaired Josuke to the core.

"Oku, what's actually bothering you," Josuke said, leaning in a bit closer, finger tips touching "Please, talk to me."

Okuyasu sighed, staring at his phone as if it held the answers. "It's just...seeing you with Yukako today brought up a lot of old insecurities."

Josuke frowned, his concern growing. "Insecurities? Like what?"

Okuyasu took a deep breath, looking up to meet Josuke's eyes. "I'm scared of losing you, Jojo. Sometimes I feel like...like I'm not enough for you. What if you find someone else who's better for you?"

Josuke's heart ached at the vulnerability in Okuyasu's voice. He finally put his hand over Okuyasu's, invading it with his warmth. "Oku, you're everything I've ever wanted. You are enough. You're more than enough."

Okuyasu's eyes searched Josuke's, looking for reassurance. "But what if someone else comes along? Good looking and smart. Someone who doesn't have all the issues I have? Someone who's more confident, or more interesting?"

Josuke shook his head firmly. "Oku, I don't want someone else. I want you. I love you for who you are, with all your strengths and all your vulnerabilities. We're in this together, remember?"

Okuyasu gripped back on Josuke's hand tightly. "I know, but sometimes it's hard to believe. Look at you, you're this hunk who dated many people before me. Seeing you with Yukako, it just...it made me feel like you might get bored with me, then find someone else who you connect with more."

Josuke leaned in even closer, his voice soft but earnest. "My Oku, listen to me. No one could ever replace you. What I have with you is special. Yukako is just a friend and nothing more, but you? You're the one I want to spend my time with, the one I want to share my life with."

Okuyasu's eyes filled with tears, and he blinked them away quickly. "I love you so much, Jojo. I'm sorry for doubting you....us."

Josuke smiled, a warm, reassuring smile. "You don't have to apologize. It's okay to feel insecure sometimes. What's important is that we talk about it and work through it together." Okuyasu nodded, a small smile breaking through his uncertainty. "Thank you for being so understanding."

Josuke squeezed his hand gently. "Always. We're a team, and nothing is going to change that. I promise."

Okuyasu took a deep breath, seeming to relax a bit more. "Okay. I'll try to remember that. And I'll work on talking to you when I feel this way, instead of letting it build up."

Josuke grinned. "Good. Because I want to know everything that's on your mind. You're my beloved, and your feelings matter to me."

Okuyasu's smile widened, the tension finally easing from his shoulders. "I love you Josuke. And I really appreciate you being here for me."

"I love you too. More than you know," Josuke replied, his voice filled with sincerity. As they finished their lunch, the conversation shifted to lighter topics, the cloud of insecurity lifting. They both knew that their relationship was stronger after having faced this challenge together.
