"Dick?"

Eliana didn't know whether to hug the idiot or to smack him in the head. In the end she chose the latter.

"Ow! What was that for?" He winced as he rubbed the back of his head. "For not talking to me for the past seven years." she replied, wondering how many hits she could get in before someone stopped her.

"I tried, but I could never get a hold of you." He defended. Oh right.

While Talia had been training her, she had practically been wiped off the face of the Earth. Great. Dick probably wanted an explanation or something. El quickly made up a story in her head.

"My agent doesn't let me use my phone a lot. And I'm only allowed authorized numbers." El replied shortly, hoping they would buy it. Dick still looked slightly hurt.

"Wait-wait!" Jason shouted, waving his hands around in a comical stop action. "What the fuck is going on?"  "Language, Master Jason." Alfred spoke sharply from the corner.

El muttered under her breath, "Language, huh? You have an adopted grandson called Dick for petes sake!"

"El was my childhood friend back when I was at the circus." Dick explained. "After Bruce adopted me, I lost touch with her." Bruce's eyes widened slightly at the news.

Everyone but Damian seemed surprised. Instead, he seemed more suspicious of me. Tim was beside him, looking half dead but was also staring very intensely at me. Shesh, way to make a girl feel uncomfortable.

"Yeah, that pretty much covers it as the shortened version." El nodded awkwardly. Trying to ignore Damian's stare. Scratch everything I said before about him being cute, the kid is like a tiny dinosaur waiting to bite your head off! El thought.

Thankfully, before anyone could ask any questions, Alfred cut in. "How about we continue this tomorrow? It has been a long day, and the questions and explanations can wait till morning."

Thank Alfred. The man was a god.

El shot Alfred a grateful look. He nodded only slightly, " If you would like to follow me Mrs. Eliana, I will show you to your room."

Before El could say anything, Dick cut in.

"I can take her." Dick said. El winced.

Oh boy. This was going to be so fun. She was almost skipping. Yippee.

Dick motioned for her to follow. He led her up a trail of stairs and down to a lit hallway with huge glass doors.

El's eyes widened. Inside was a full trapeze. Her head snapped back to Dick who was grinning. "Alfred was right, talking can wait. But what do you say we try the Torpedo 3 for old times' sake?" He asked her.

El smiled back. A warm feeling in her chest that she hadn't felt in a while.

Hope.
