Three months had passed since the birth of Ava, and life for Curtis and Sofi had settled into a beautiful rhythm. Their days were filled with the soft coos and giggles of their daughter, who had quickly become the centre of their world. Despite the occasional sleepless night, they were happier than ever, their bond strengthened by the shared experience of parenthood.
Curtis and Sofi had always known that their families would play a significant role in their lives, but they hadn't anticipated just how much love and support they would receive in the months following Ava's birth. Both the Ken and Nani families had been eager to welcome the newest member into the fold, and now, they were planning a grand celebration to officially welcome Ava into the world.
The celebration was set to take place at Curtis's family estate, a sprawling property with lush gardens and a large, elegant home. It was the perfect setting for a family gathering, and the excitement in the air was palpable as everyone prepared for the big day.
Sofi was particularly nervous. While she had grown close to Curtis's family, this would be the first time her parents would meet Curtis's extended family. The Nani were flying in from Spain, from their vacation, and Sofi couldn't wait for them to finally meet Ava and Curtis's parents.
The day of the celebration arrived, and the estate was bustling with activity. Flowers were arranged in every corner, tables were set with fine china, and the scent of freshly prepared food wafted through the air. The garden had been transformed into a picturesque setting, with white tents and twinkling fairy lights creating a warm, inviting atmosphere.
Curtis and Sofi arrived early, wanting to ensure that everything was perfect. Ava, dressed in a delicate white dress, was nestled in Sofi's arms, her wide eyes taking in the sights around her.
"You ready for this?" Curtis asked, his hand resting on Sofi's lower back as they stood at the entrance to the garden.
Sofi smiled, her heart swelling with love for the man beside her. "As ready as I'll ever be. I'm just so happy that our families will finally be together."
As guests began to arrive, the atmosphere became even more joyful. Curtis's parents, Ken and Evelyn, were the first to greet them, their faces lighting up as they saw their granddaughter.
"Oh, look at her!" Evelyn exclaimed, reaching out to take Ava from Sofi's arms. "She's grown so much since the last time we saw her."
Ken nodded in agreement, his eyes softening as he gazed at his granddaughter. "She's a beauty, just like her mother."
Sofi blushed, smiling at the compliment. "Thank you, Ken. She's been keeping us on our toes, but we wouldn't have it any other way."
As they chatted, Sofi's parents, Nani and Isabella, arrived, their faces glowing with excitement. They had been eagerly awaiting this moment, having only seen Ava through video calls until now.
"Mija!" Isabella called out, rushing forward to embrace Sofi. "It's so good to see you!"
Sofi hugged her mother tightly, tears of happiness welling up in her eyes. "I've missed you, Mamá."
Nani, who had been standing back with a proud smile, stepped forward to greet Curtis. "You've been taking good care of my daughter and granddaughter, I hope?"
Curtis smiled, shaking Nani's hand firmly. "I've been doing my best, sir. They mean everything to me."
Sofi's father nodded approvingly, then turned his attention to Ava, who was now being doted on by both her grandmothers. "And this little one... she's perfect."
The two families spent the next hour getting to know each other better, sharing stories and laughing as they marvelled at Ava's every move. It was clear that Ava was the star of the day, with everyone eager to hold her and shower her with love.
