Valentino was pacing around the cold room, his skin itching in eagerness. He was announced earlier that day by one of Alastor's shadows to meet him in this abandoned building. As promised, Alastor was going to open a portal to Hell so both of them could return.

It's been painful days for Valentino as the human world destroyed every last bit of his patience. Normally, he probably would've enjoyed fucking around and seeing all the new stuff that appeared after his death, but not now. Not when everything he did in the past few days was hiding in the filthiest places possible.

No, Valentino was pissed. Carmilla lied to them about the portals. Alastor showed him how strong demons can become here, in the human world. The thought of the Vees conquering this world, bathing in the souls of mortals for eternity, made him slightly chuckle.

His thoughts were interrupted when he heard footsteps slowly approaching, the familiar smell filling the air. "Is that you, Radioman?" he asked, lighting up a cigarette, a hint of disgust on his face. Human cigarettes taste like crap, but it was the best he could get for now.

Green flames lit up around him, as Alastor entered the room, a dark smile on his face. His shadows seemed to circle around them, Valentino getting quite tense at their subtle aggressiveness. "Respect the deal, Alastor. I gave you the book, now send me back," he commanded, trying to stand his ground. The shadows suddenly engulfed him, tugging at his limbs and forcing him to kneel, his head lifted so he had no choice but to see Alastor's grin.

"Well, my old pal... I'm pretty sure I said that I want to test the book first..." Alastor said, a green chain forming around Valentino's neck. "Your life depends on me until I am convinced that these rituals work." The static in Alastor's voice was almost deafening, a shiver running down Valentino's spine.

Valentino growled "Is this because I attacked your woman? Is this why you're so pissed?"

Alastor's eyes gleamed with cold fury as he gazed down at him, his smile remaining fixed in place despite his anger. "That might be part of the reason, yes... As you know, I don't like people playing with what's mine." He tugged at the chain, Valentino's neck hurting at the sudden movement. "The only reason you're alive is because of our... old partnership. Call it professional respect, even though it's the last thing I'd have for a pimp like you..." Alastor got closer, his steps slow, while the grip on Valentino's neck almost made him choke. "You dare to touch her again and I will torture your soul until angels themselves will beg me to stop."

Valentino growled. Being at Alastor's mercy was embarrassing enough, the pain engulfing his body not making it any better. "Un... Understood..." He managed to say, the grip on his neck loosening just slightly. "So, what's your plan?" he asked, breathing heavily. Alastor looked at him, his eyebrow slightly raised. "I mean... Will you keep this portal thing a secret? I think it's just a matter of time until Carmilla finds out the book is gone."

Alastor scratched his chin, thinking about it for a moment. Carmilla kept the book secret for a reason, that was for sure. As much as he could use it against her, it wouldn't be the best plan to go against her or Zestial. For now. "Well, my friend... Once we return, you will get all the Overlords and tell them that you know about the book. I'm sure all of them will be surprised to hear about it and Carmilla will have no choice but to spit out everything she knows about it."

"And what if she wants it back?"

"Tell her I will gladly return it as soon as possible."

Valentino looked at him confused. "And what's the catch?"

"Pardon me?"

"What do you get out of this? Just... learn how to open portals?"

"Well, yes my friend. That's my interest from now... And you will deliver me all the precious information you can get about this book, or else..."
