short little chapter before the finale :)

"mom! do you know where my necklace is!? the one with the sun on it!" i frantically searched under the coffee table in my living room.

"here is it," my mom came up behind me with my necklace in hand. "you left it in the bathroom last night."

"thanks mom." i turned around and let her clasp the necklace on me. she turned me back around and eyed me very carefully.

"you look beautiful sweetie." my mom licked her thumb and wiped my cheek.

"mom. i'm not six anymore" i whined while she fixed the straps of my top.

she ignored me and fixed my clothes a bit more. she then looked up at me with a very serious look on her face. "don't forget your basket honey." she grabbed my picnic basket from the kitchen counter behind her. i took it from her hands and thanked her again.

knock. knock.

i froze, my eyes immediately widening.

"go ahead then. since you're not a little kid anymore." my mom chuckled and pushed me towards the front door.

i took a deep breath before opening the door. sean was standing there, struggling to hold holding a bouquet of tulips and roses along with a blanket and picnic basket. i smiled to myself at the sight of him.

"hi y/n. hi ms. l/n," he waved at my mom behind me. "these are for you." he displayed the flowers in front of me.

i gently took them from his hands and watched as his struggle from a handload disappear.

"thank you." i admired the arrangement of flowers in my hands.

"take good care of her!" my mom shouted from the living room.

"i will ms. l/n!" sean called out. he looked back to me, "ready to go?"

i nodded and stepped outside. sean closed the door behind me.

"you look beautiful." sean said as we walked down the sidewalk.

"thank you," i giggled. "you look good too. i'm surprised you didn't wear your squad hoodie." i joked with a grin, looking down at his nice jean and t-shirt combo.

sean chuckled, "have to look the best for my girl."

i almost died when he called me his girl.

we made it to the park and sean placed a big floral blanket on the underneath a huge dove tree. we sat down next to each other.

i started to lay out all food i had brought on the blanket. it was mostly a bunch of fruits such as grapes, strawberries, and clementines. i had to bring a bowl of melted chocolates because chocolate dipped strawberries are my favorite thing ever. i also brought some sandwiches, which my mom insisted on making for us.

sean then put out all of his stuff. he pulled out two bottles of lemonade, a dish of brownies and an entire apple pie.

"you really brought an entire pie with you?" i giggled.

"what! i'm a pie guy!" sean threw his hands up in the air defensively. "and apple pies are the best."

"i could disagree with that. cherries pies are way better."

"i might have to end the date here," sean joked. "oh and i brought one more thing." sean pulled out a blunt from his back pocket.

i looked at him daringly as he played with the weed in his hands. "i'll have a little. only so the food will taste better."
