Tengen Uzui had always been a man who embraced life's pleasures, and tonight was no exception. He had managed to arrange a rare evening out with his three wives, a chance to indulge in fine dining and relaxation without the demands of parenthood pressing upon him. To ensure their evening went smoothly, Tengen enlisted the help of an unlikely babysitter—Sanemi Shinazugawa.
Sanemi, who had become an unexpected friend to Tengen over their shared battles and mutual respect, agreed to the task with a confident grin. He had his own share of chaotic experiences, so handling a pair of three-year-olds seemed manageable.
"Just know, I've got Giyuu's number on speed dial. He was hanging out with Shinobu tonight, but I'm sure he'd stop by if you needed any help. The twins love him!" Tengen had explained, but Sanemi just shook his head.
"I won't be needing Tomioka's help, but thanks anyway!"
As soon as Tengen and his wives left for their luxurious night out, the twins, Hoho and Remi, wasted no time. They darted around the living room with the energy only children of their age could muster. Their inherited stealth and speed made them nearly impossible to catch. Sanemi, though usually unflappable, found himself overwhelmed as the children leaped from sofa to sofa, upending potted plants and leaving a trail of shattered leaves and soil.
"Hoho, Remi!" Sanemi tried to shout over the din, but his attempts at discipline were drowned out by the children's gleeful shrieks. The boy and girl were in their element, tearing through the room like whirlwind spirits, leaving ripped paperwork and knocked-over furniture in their wake.
Sanemi's frustration reached its peak when Remi grabbed a stack of important documents and scattered them across the floor while Hoho, with a mischievous grin, tried to climb the curtains. Panting and red-faced, Sanemi called for reinforcements.
"Obanai, I need help. Now!"
Within minutes, Obanai Iguro arrived, expecting a manageable situation. However, upon entering the scene, his eyes widened in disbelief at the level of chaos. The living room looked like a tornado had swept through it. Hoho was scaling the bookshelf, and Remi was tossing cushions like confetti.
"Sanemi!" Obanai exclaimed, barely concealing his shock. "What happened here?"
Sanemi could only groan in response, his usually composed demeanor fraying at the edges. "These two are like little tornadoes. I can't keep up with them!"
Obanai shook his head, his thoughts drifting to his own daughters, who, despite their energetic nature, had a tendency to be surprisingly well-behaved. He took a deep breath and approached the twins with a calm resolve.
"Alright, kids," Obanai said in his most soothing voice, "let's see if we can find a way to settle down."
Hoho, intrigued by this new authority figure, stopped his antics momentarily, while Remi looked at Obanai with wide eyes. He tried to coax them into playing with quieter toys, but their boundless energy seemed to defy any attempt at calm.
In a desperate bid, Obanai rummaged through the mess and found a collection of colorful, noise-making toys that seemed to captivate the twins' attention. He managed to corral them into a game of pretending the living room was a grand adventure land. He spun tales of mythical creatures and far-off lands, capturing their imaginations and redirecting their chaos into creative play.
Meanwhile, Sanemi took a moment to catch his breath and repair the damage, albeit with a frown on his face. He still couldn't believe how mischievous Tengen's twins were compared to Obanai's daughters, who seemed to possess an innate sense of decorum.
Obanai Iguro's storytelling had managed to calm the energetic twins, who now lay quietly on the living room floor. The gentle hum of Obanai's voice and the soothing cadence of the tale had lulled him into a light doze. The room was momentarily peaceful, save for the soft rustling of the children as they listened.
