Hikari Saeko hurriedly packed her things, cursing under her breath. She almost overslept, and now she was running late to meet her friends. She couldn't understand why even the damn alarm lost its ability to wake her up.

She remembered setting the alarm on her phone to be loud enough, maybe it was because she had a nice dream that there was no need to wake up. It wasn’t surprising, everyone knew she was a heavy sleeper.

Picking off her backpack, she ran out of her house. But as she stepped outside, a sharp pain suddenly stabbed through her head, making her dizzy. "What the hell...? Did I eat or drink something bad last night? No, that can't be it..."

As her vision blurred, the young woman gritted her teeth. The world around her faded away, and she felt as though her soul was being forcibly taken out from her body. With a resigned sigh, she closed her eyes, surrendering to whatever was coming, and everything went dark.

"We are sorry for forcing this unto you."

Huh?

When she opened her eyes, there was nothing but emptiness around her, as if she were trapped in a void. Accompanied by a voice echoed from all directions, filling the silence.

"You have been chosen to help this world, to stand against the growing darkness that is slowly approaching." The voice explained. "With your assistance, we hope to restore balance to the universe. Do not fear; you will be sent to a safe area to train and grow strong."

"... Why me?"

"That is something you should find out yourself." The voice replied firmly. "For your start, we will give you powers that you will find familiar. We will speak again in due time. Farewell."

"Wait..! May I ask who are you?"

"Only through time, you will know."

"Wait-"

Once again, she felt the pull on her soul. Now that she thought about it, it felt more like a gentle tug than being sucked out.

She jolted awake from the bed, her breath coming in sharp, ragged gasps. Once she was calm, she lifted a hand to touch her face. "What just happened..?"

Wait a minute, this isn't her voice! She turned her head down and see... She's busty as hell- huh?

She jumped out of bed and ran to a nearby mirror. Her jaw dropped at the reflection. What she saw wasn't her original body, but instead... The clothes, the uh, fox ears?.. Why did she become Miyabi?

Looking around, she realized the room had a distinctly Chinese aesthetic. Turning her body around; she moved cautiously, searching for any clue that might explain her situation.

The girl suddenly stopped in her tracks when her eyes looked at a calendar on the table. Stepping closer, her expression shifted to one of surprise. The words at the top confirmed her suspicions.

"Xianzhou Luofu calendar... I'm in Honkai Star Rail?" She narrowed her eyes and reached out to touch the calendar, but a knock on the door pulled her attention away. "Who is it?"

"Miss Miyabi, it's me, Yanqing!"

...

She placed her hand on the doorknob, slowly turning it and pulled the door, behind it was one of her favorite characters. She had to control her urge to hug him tightly, not wanting to scare him now, did she?

"Oh, Yanqing, what brings you here?" She tilted her head curiously.

"The General wanted to know if you liked your room." He said with a smile. "And I'm also here to thank you for the advice you gave me for my training."

"Tell him that I like the room." Saeko nodded. "I'm glad the advices I gave could help you."

"Even though I don't remember what the heck I said."

"The Wardance is close, around a few more weeks. Do you want to participate or watch the event?" Yanqing tilted his head, cute.

"I think I'd rather watch."

"I see, see you later! I have a task to finish!"

He then waved and left. Closing the door, she makes her way to the bed and noticed an object under it. She bent down and carefully pulled it out, examining it closely.

That does not look like the katana that Miyabi owned. It looks mesmerizing. The longer she stare, the more she slowly descends into madness. Shaking her head to dispel the unsettling feeling, she slowly drew the katana from its scabbard, and was met with her own reflection from the blade.

Squinting her eyes, a thought entered her mind. Why does this look familiar? Every katana could look like this, yet something about it bothered her. It was as if she saw the katana frequently. No, not everyday, more like enough for her to think that this object was familiar.

Nevermind that. She needed to familiarize herself with this world quickly. Hopefully, things wouldn't get too problematic. The young woman will try out her powers later.

"Ah well, there goes my college project. But on the bright side, my life will not be boring!"
