"So let me get this straight, its been a YEAR since I- well Narinder died and Fernilla is finally getting her stake in the Clan? Thats pathetic, what dies this have to do with me?"
"Im not sure, but lets not talk about that anymore, we should be close to the border soon."
Oshana said. Nanari looked at her confused
"The new god of death...what is he like? Have you met him?
Oshana looked at her, seriously.
"Yes, I had my...run ins with death. He is...fine...better than Narinder by a longshot, but he already has plans for Narinder's soul that are...less than good for even an ordinary bad person. So let's try and not see him, okay? If you EVER see him, don't say that your Narinder, god forbid he does terrible things to your innocent soul."
Nanari wanted to challenge this new DEATH, But in a clearly mortal and female body may not be a good idea at the moment. They finally made it to the Clan. It already looked much better than the last time they were together. The flag that flown...
"The red..."
"Yeah, replaced with an icy blue-"
"They replaced me"
"Why are you suprised by that- oh! Hush up, the guards are coming, don't look suspicious"
She said. The guards came up after a cart full of produce was waived in.
"Halt, state your names"
"Hello, my name is Oshana and this is my friend Nanari. We are refugees from anothet cult. Please, we have been traveling so far and wish to live here"
"Any Identification?"
"Just these..."
Oshana pulls Nanari's wrist. All of a sudden, a wristband appeared. The guard shook their head
"Slaves...they were slaves..."
"Damn...alright. Come with me, I will take you to the bishops, but be warned, we may both be able to see them"
Oshana and Nanari nodded. That was easy. Too easy.
"Slaves? Why slaves?"
"Slaves ended up here due to their leader just going haywire. Killing spree, eating babies, you know?"
Nanari nodded, agreeing with the guards. Walking through the town, she was hit with this nostalgic feeling. Memories were flooding back of the good times he spent t with his family...his mother...all those times.... She shook her head. No, these were in the past.
"Were here"
"And just in time, General Moses!"
They called over Moses, now a General in The Faithful's Army.
"Soldiers, who are these women?"
"Slaves from another Cult. They came seeking refuge"
"Damn, well I'll let the Bishops know they are here. Pat them down and make sure they aren't holding anything dangerous"
They did just that. The women had nothing on them, nor weapons. Moses goes in and announces the ladies to the Bishops
"-hopefully its the last of them. Bring them in, Moses"
One of the bishops said. Moses waived them in. The Bishops were in a large throne room, akin to the one Narinder was raised. The difference was that the room had natural light and it wasnt dimmed in any way. The walls were painted in a more lighter grey to brighten the room, it looked clean and the thrones were ordered in a familiar way. From the Left to right; Leshy with Noelle standing by his throne, Kallamar, Gaia and Shamura in the middle as the leaders, and where the order changed was that Heket was next to Gaia in the middle and Shamura was on the other side of Her and Fernilla was on the end next to Leshy.
"You, state your names"
"Hello, my name is Oshana and this is Nanari. We are refugees. Please help us!"
She said. Thankfully, Nanari was silent, wondering what happened to their throne?
"Of course dearest! It must have been a long trek for you to get here! We opened our doors to slaves! You are welcome to stay as long as you like. Please, head to the nearest office to register and get those nasty oppressive cuffs off you!"
Fernilla said. Seems like she is getting the hang of talking to her subjects. General Moses takes them away.
"How did I do, Shamura?"
"Better, an improvement. Less of the singsong voice next time"
"Shamura, she LITERALLY only talks like that!"
Heket said. Shamura squeezed their temple
"Damnit, you told me that already. My head is getting worse"
Bishop Shamura said. Gaia didn't agree with that statement.
"I have to disagree. With the way you have made progress, your definitely making progress on your recovery. Remember, you may not be able to get back to your normal self"
Gaia said. Shamura didn't like that answer. Narinder's injuries were permanent. Bishop Fernilla speaks up.
"Bishop Shamura, it's okay. I don't mind reminding you. I know why your like this"
"Thank you my dear. Oh! Today's meetings are over? Well, lets end the meeting, the weather is nice today"
They said. It looked like they all agreed. The Bishops began leaving one by one until Fernilla got up and realized that Heket didnt leave. She was still sitting there so she sat back down.
"Is everything alright?"
"...That black cat...she reminds me of...Narinder...I don't want them serving you"
She said. Fernilla was shocked.
"But they have been dead for a year, do you really think they could have come back?"
"I might be becoming paranoid, but until further notice, she will not serve you. Ill let the white one serve you if you want."
Fernilla decided to agree with Heket. Her opinion and words have never lead her astray because she knows it comes from a place of care.
"Then where will the black cat serve? Leshy Already has Noelle- well, she doesn't SERVE him but I'm sure he doesn't need additional staff..."
"Kallamar might take her as a trinket in his harem he's building...No staff gets put on Shamura's line without Mom's approval, same goes for her own...argh! Damn it!"
Heket said. Fernilla soothes her by touching her arm gingerly.
"Dear, don't fret. I'll be fine, if anything goes astray, you're the first person I always go to!"
"Hmph, your damn right about that!"
They both laugh at the situation, but heket still wondered why that black car reminded her of her late brother
