Chapter 1 - Your guardian angel.
I woke up to find myself smiling incredulously as waking up at 8 in the morning is a miracle in my world. Usually by 9:30, I would have animals jumping in my bed just to wake me up for breakfast. Sometimes I feel like a horrible mother that loves her sleep more than her babies but today was different, I've been waiting for this day for minutes, hours and days. Finally the 21st of February has arrived.
I went down to the kitchen to make myself a cup of coffee only to find my son, Isaac, sitting on the couch watching cartoons. What more can you ask for when your kids know how to behave themselves while you're still asleep?
Whilst stirring my cup of coffee,I heard Isaac yelling, whether it was at the television or me, I have no idea which means I'll have to find out. When Isaac starts to yell you know you're in for some trouble.
"Isaac! What did mommy say about the volume in the house?" I asked him smiling at the fact that within hours the love of my life would be at home. Nothing could rub this smile of today.
" No mommy, you weren't listening to what I was saying that's why I turned the volume up." He said smugly.
He reminded me so much of his father, those baby blue eyes; the messy blonde bed-hair; his personality, the whole package was just like his father. Isaac keeps me sane or else I would have been dead by now due to the fact that I don't get to see my better half for long periods of time.
"Sorry baby." I apologized.
I probably was too busy thinking of the man I loved to have heard my son asking me a question.
"What was your question?" I added.
"Why are you awake so early? And that smile mom, it's creepy." He answered.
"I'm just excited that you have school tomorrow baby." I answered, hesitating at every word I said. I wanted to keep the fact that their dad was coming home today a secret from the kids just to surprise them.
"What did the man of this house say?" He asked me folding his arms together. I raised an eyebrow at him. "No lying!" He exclaimed.
I felt someone pulling at my pajamas
"Mommy, is my panky-cake red-day?"
"Good morning princess." I carried my darling daughter,Lindsay, onto the counter.
"In a minute sweet-."
"Mom, I'm still waiting." Isaac interrupted me.
Before I could answer him, the doorbell rang. Isaac ran to get the door and Lindsay obviously tagged along with her brother.
