My father was the top warrior in our pack and wanted nothing more than his first born son to take after him but unfortunately I was born an omega and that just couldn't do for my father.

He wanted nothing to do with me from the very beginning.

He would punish my mother for even the slightest things only because she gave birth to an omega and beat me for even breathing wrong.

That all changed the moment my younger sister, Cordelia, was born. She was born an alpha and dad focused all his attention on her.

After she was born, I become nothing more than the dirt under my father's shoe.

My mother did her best at raising my sister and I as equals but my father just wouldn't have it. He wanted my sister to be the next best warrior in the pack, like him, and so he would pent her against me and she slowly started hating me too.

"Please stop daddy, you're hurting me."

I sobbed, kicking and scratching, trying to get him to let me go.

All I did was accidentally track some dirt into the house, coming back from the garden.

"You worthless mutt, tracking dirt into my house!" He screamed into my face.

I sobbed louder, he had his hand wrapped around my neck, squeezing to the point of almost passing out.

"Baby please, put him down, I cleaned the dirt up. Let's go to the room." My mother pleaded.

"Mommy please help."

That was the beginning of the abuse I would endure, I was only 4.

I just wanted to be good enough for my father but I just don't think there is anything in this world I could do that would make him proud of me.

After all I was nothing but an omega in his eyes.

"Onyx please come home, we have the alpha ceremony tonight and you know your father would be upset if we were late."

My mother pleaded with me over the phone, "I know momma, I'm coming home, I'm just finishing up here at the garden." I told her while I continued plucking the weeds from the flower bed.

Gardening has been the only escape I have had from my father and the only thing he doesn't seem to get mad over if it's done wrong, still though I did everything with pinpoint precision.

"Okay, well please just finish whatever your doing and come home, please"

"Yes ma'am, I love you.."

"I love you."

I hung up the phone with that and placed my phone back in the front pocket of my overalls.

I thought to myself, why don't I bring some flowers home to maybe brighten my mother's mood up, I know she has been stressing for the past week because of this whole alpha ceremony bullshit, and I know why, our father wants us to be perfect.

I don't understand why when all we do is put on a fake mask when we go anywhere as a family.

He hates his only son and uses his only daughter as a weapon.

As I continue pulling the weeds, I noticed that the Helichrysum Splendens I had planted had finally sprouted and grown.

Helichrysum Splendens is a herb used for joint pain and is great for baths to relive itchy skin also, which I started planting to go with my mothers medicine.
