"YOU WAAAAAT?" Akito screamed as the news of Kanjo applying to stargazer in his place fell on him.
"Sorry- but you should thank me, Akito! This is our chance!.. er.. I mean, your chance to hone your abilities."
"I don't want to hone my abilities, Kanjo. You could've just left well enough alone!"
"Now now.." Haruka started as the air quickly grew cold. "Akito, your sister was only trying to help you out, however, she shouldn't have butted in." She finished, as Her gaze shifted from Akito's to Kanjo's. "Either way, you two have made it into the most prestigious school in all of Japan, and that is worth celebrating! Come on, let's go get some ice cream, I've got a little money saved over." She said as the three of them headed out of the door.

The walk to the ice cream store was quick, being that they lived in the lower ends of town, so everything was close by.
The family went into the ice cream shop, and took their usual seats.
"Hey, Akito, look. There's the new worker!" Kanjo whispered as she pointed to a girl wearing a maid costume. "It's rude to Point." The boy stated as his eyes followed his sisters finger. Soon his gaze was met to those of a light blue, to which his eyes quickly averted. The girl made her way over to the table of three, dusted off her maid dress and cleared her throat before speaking: "Welcome to Sunny Scoops. May I take your order?"

"Her demeanor is calm and collected, and she stands with perfect balance. Not to mention she's good looking, and also looks as if she could buy this entire shop. I wonder why she's in such a small city as this one." Akito thought to himself, as his sister spoke.
"I've never seen you around here before, what's your name?"
"My name is Reika, of the Ijigen family, my apologies for not introducing myself sooner, this is my first day working here." The girl said with a bow, her face still emotionless.

"Ijigen? So you're rich then?"
"K-kanjo!-"
"No, no it's fine. While my parents do own Ijigen cosmetics, I like to think of myself as living comfortable, rather than rich." She said, this time with a warm smile.
"Something about her smile is so..off putting." Akito thought as she handed them all a menu "So then.. why are you here?"
"Excuse me?"
"Why work in a lowly town like this, when you could work in the big city?.."
"Kanjo, it's none of our business what she chooses to do with her time." Akito interrupted.
"I like a good change of scenery every now and again." Reika said, this time with the same emotionless expression. Silence filled the table for a what seemed like forever before Haruka Put their orders in. Reika thanked her as she went to submit them, her long blue hair swaying as she walked.
"Next time, don't let your jaw drop so far when you see a pretty girl, Akito." Kanjo teased as Akito quickly questioned her.
"What? What are you talking about?"
"You looked like a kid in a candy store. Honestly it shocked me, I was starting to think you were a little.."
"Shut up!" He shouted as she laughed at his embarrassment.

It was now the next day and the siblings were woken up extra early. Today was their orientation ceremony, and Haruka wanted them to be extra prepared. They put their uniforms on nobly, and walked into the living room, where Haruka waited for them. Tears welled In her eyes as she watched the two she raised from young childhood, step into a new chapter of their lives. "Please stand together, I want to take a photo!" She said excitedly with a small squeal. Akito Groaned, as he wasn't the biggest fan of being in pictures. He folded his arms as Kanjo wrapped one of hers around his neck.
"Say stargazer!"
"Stargazer!"
"Stargazer.."
"Good now let's go, we don't want you two to be late!" Haruka said as they made their way out of the door. They didn't have a car anymore, it had to be sold in order to get the place they had now, so they walked to the bus station. It was an hour and thirty minute drive from their hometown to Osaka, so in hopes of playing it extra safe, they left two hours in advance.  The ride was boring, but Akito liked boring. He loved when nothing was going on, to him, most times, Boring meant safe, and Akito was all about safety.

About an hour into the drive, the bus came to a jolting stop, waking Kanjo out of her sleep. Akito couldn't sleep, as his nerves were too bad. Haruka looked around to see what the sudden stop was for. She stood up and looked out of the front of the bus from her seat , seeing what looked to be two people standing outside. They were oddly dressed, and didn't look like any common people who lived normal everyday city lives, no, they looked like..
"VILLA-" A passerby with a young daughter shouted, to which a blade was quickly thrown into his neck, silencing him instantly. Screams were heard as all the passengers went to flea. Akito, Kanjo and Haruka witnessed the death of that innocent man right from outside their window. They stood there in pure shock, not knowing whether or not to stay put, or to run with the others.  Suddenly the bus was being flipped over, causing the remaining victims to lose their footing. Kanjo hit her head on the roof, causing her to pass out, while Haruka screamed her name.
"Kanjo! Kanjo!!"
The screams were louder than before, now that the bus was flipped upside down. Soon a large whirring sound could be heard from what was once the bottom of the bus. The criminals had  torched their way in, and began searching, for something. Money perhaps.

Akito tried to get a hold of himself, but his breathing would not Halter. He turned to see Haruka trying to wake Kanjo up, and it made his freight worsen. It wasn't Before long that he would be met with darkness. As his vision altered between dark and light he noticed a voice. He opened his eyes only to be met with another pair, staring back at him, though he couldn't move.  Lucky for him, though, this was a friendly pair of eyes. They belonged to a young boy, a hero. "It's alright, Echo's here." The boy calmly assured Akito, as he put his arm around his shoulder and lifted him up. The hero skated away, quite literally, with Akito, swiftly leaving the crime scene.
"My family..." He thought to himself as everything faded to black.
