The atmosphere that was once dark began to fade from nothing into something, ever so slightly. Akito finally became somewhat aware of his surroundings, his hearing being the first thing to come back to him.
"Nice work, Kōhei. Because of you, these peoples lives were saved. In fact, it's thanks to all of you, that they were saved. You are living up to your title nicely." An old voice praised. The man was headmaster Masaru, a very strict, man, but he has a good heart, only wanting the best for the students and faculty. Due to him being a much feared headmaster, praise from him was like winning the noble prize.
"Who are those three? They look so powerful.." Akito thought to himself, as the headmasters kept speaking.
"What do you think they were after? Money?"
"No, if they wanted money they'd have just robbed a bank or something. They had to have a clear motive." Kohei responded in a clear voice. Akito began to analyze him,He hadn't known what to expect when danger found them on their way to class orientation, but Kohei's sudden arrival was both unexpected and overwhelming. With his dark blue hair streaked with neon green highlights and a silver mask, Kohei was a blur of controlled, precise motion. His rollerblades skimmed effortlessly over the rough ground as if defying gravity itself, and Akito was struck by the duality in his demeanor—calm yet confident, almost playful in the face of danger.
Kohei didn't hesitate to step between them and the threat, his sharp black eyes never missing a beat. He acted with the assurance of someone who knew exactly what he was doing, and though Akito didn't know who Kohei was, he found himself in awe. Kohei wasn't just powerful—he was in complete command of the situation, exuding a quiet confidence that made Akito feel, for the first time, that they would be okay.
As the danger passed and Kohei's figure stood in the aftermath, Akito felt a mix of gratitude and curiosity. This stranger had saved them without a word, yet left a lasting impression. Akito knew he had just met someone special, someone he wanted to understand better.
Soon enough, Kohei turned his gaze to Akito's direction. He was laying on the floor, still seemingly unconscious, as Kohei skated his way over to him. "Is he awake, Kohei?" Hikari, one of his classmates questioned, to which all he said was "dunno". He crouched down and stared at Akito, who in turn opened his eyes and stared at him. "He's here again, Kohei is here.." Akito thought to himself. "The hero who saved us — Me, Kanjo..Haruka.. where are they, where's my family?" He thought some more before shooting up.
"Where's my family? Please, tell me they're alright!" Akito shouted in panic, to which Kohei closed his eyes and smiled. "They're alright, I assure you!" He said kindly as he stood up. "We're postponing the orientation date to two days from now, so you guys can rest up."
"No, I'm fine just take me to them."
"Woah woah, not so fast young man. You need to take some time in the schools medical unit."One of the nurses said as she dragged him to the medical unit, inside the school. He didn't even try to fight, in fact he was embarrassed that students could see him being dragged. He covered his face until they made it into the care room, before snatching his short out of the nurses hands. He didn't really appreciate her dragging him, he was perfectly capable of walking, but he didn't make a big deal, he just wanted to see his family.
"Kanjo, Haruka!" He called as he found them in their hospital beds, sitting up. "Akito!" Kanjo said happily as he hugged them both. "We're so glad you're doing okay." Haruka said softly and he looked deep into her eyes. Akito began rambling about Kohei and how he saved them all and how he was so magnificent.
Kanjo stayed silent for a bit before stopping him.
"Akito.. I understand if you're ready to go home. I understand and I'm ready to go with you."
"Huh? What do you mean? Why would I wanna leave?"
"I mean, maybe I'm not cut out to being a Hero.. I mean, I got Knocked out before the enemies even came in the bus.. I'm too weak."
"Yeah, you are pretty weak...but, isn't that what makes you stronger? The fact that you're so determined to help others I mean. If it wasn't for you dragging me into this, I'd probably still be at home with my nose stuck in a book. It's because of you, I experienced true danger, and for the first time since I was 7, I feel like I want to finally accept my power, and become a hero. Thanks to you, Kanjo, I have the courage to...try." Akito responded. He truly spoke from his heart this time and Kanjo didn't need to use her powers to see that.
