Wattpad appears to have an issue with moderation. I've witnessed far too many users say terrible and racist things to other users, which should not be permitted. It baffles me that this is on a reading platform! Although, like with every social media platform, there will be rude, malicious, and cruel people. You just don't expect it to be this disgusting.

I've came across the books and profiles of authors who are receiving threatening messages from people because they aren't updating as frequently as the person would like. Or things didn't work out the way they had hoped for in the book. I recognize that the majority of users on this website are rather young and may not be aware of how awful what they're saying and doing is.

However, once you get older, the common sense to know from right and wrong should've kicked in. It's NEVER that serious anyways.

I'll probably speak on more of that later in another topic.

Although certain users on this platform have done some ridiculous things that may justify it, bullying is never acceptable in general. Being bullied for having an opinion is unacceptable, especially if it is small.

Some people do speak on topics that they have no clue about, which can come off very rude and ignorant, but sometimes it's good to educate someone.

You can also tell someone to do some research about a specific topic if you don't feel like explaining it. Just be polite about it.

Even in 2024, people still fail to recognize that these profiles belong to real people with feelings. Of course, not everyone cares, but some do. That's why so many things that Wattpad had for years are gone because of the amount of bullying and predatory behavior that occurs on this website.

As we know, bullying can lead to many different outcomes. You never know what's going on in someone's life and you saying that one hurtful thing could have been the one thing to make them be done with it all.

Therefore, Wattpad, please practice better moderation, and Wattpad citizens, please be careful with what you say!
