As if my day couldn't get any worse I had to fall into Dhanush's arms. My heart was racing as his face was too close to mine our lips only inches away. I looked up to find my hand gripping the collar of his expensive shirt .

My heart skipping a million beats as he steadied me, his fingers warm and strong against my body. I looked up at him still staring at me, our eyes locked and for a moment everything else seemed to fade away as if nothing else mattered in the world anymore, not the strangers witnessing my downfall, not the passerby customers and especially not the barista.

But the spell broke as soon as a cellphone started ringing in our vicinity and instinctively my fingers let go of his expensive shirt and his arm let go of my waist fixing his posture. My skin longing for the warmth of his fingers which are now imprinted on my body.

I took a step back to brush off the tingles crawling on my skin.

"Are you alright miss Sengupta?" Dhanush asked looking concerned about my ankle.

"Oh yes- I'm alright. Thank you for helping me Mr. Nair." I replied stuttering.

"I would've said it's my pleasure but I'm wondering if you are following me. Running into me twice on the same day doesn't look like a coincidence to me miss Sengupta" He said with a smug look on his face.

"Yeah? Well I could say the same thing about you Mr. Nair. Is it fate perhaps that's bringing me and you together?" I said rather sarcastically which pulled out a little smile on his face.

"I'm not the one who believes in fate miss Sengupta perhaps the stalker label was better." He said smirking which made my blood run to my cheeks .

"I agree just as much." I said turning around to face the barista so he couldn't see my flushed face.

The barista was looking at us with an amazed expression. As soon as I turned to face him his face frowned and he passed me my card so fast, his movement's really haphazard as if death was looming over his head and my card was burning holes in his hands .

I took the card from him and looked at him with a confused expression.

I turned to face Dhanush, now that I had taken back my card and my order was placed.

I looked up to see him scrutinizing my face, his eyes still reflecting concern.

"Jokes apart, are you really fine? You look a little worn out." He said, his eyes filled with concern.

"Just what a woman wants to hear Mr. Nair. I'm absolutely flattered by the compliment ." I replied with sarcasm

"Oh no that's not what I meant" I heard him say attempting to make me feel better. I also heard him say something under his breath which sounded like "I could never find you unattractive" but I knew better than to let the caffeine talk .

"There's no need to get all flustered I know I don't look my best right now" I stated

"Okay but tell me are you really not following me?" He asked moving to a safer topic.
