The street was dark, barely lit by the one streetlamp that still seemed to work. Clearly, she had run into a bad area of the city – the kind you only lived in if you were reliant on benefits for income. She continued to run away from the madman who had decided to take it upon himself to chase after her – the only one out of her suspect's party who bothered to notice the help. Then, her phone rang with the sound of My Father's Eyes by Eric Clapton and she groaned as she continued in her attempt to run whilst answering the phone "You were shot and didn't bother to tell me?" her father yelled down the phone and she winced, regretting that she always had the volume turned up as loudly as it was.
She rolled her eyes before responding "I had a bulletproof vest on, it didn't even hit the skin," Just as she'd said it, she came to an alley, the other end of which was blocked off by a wire fence. Momentarily, she flicked her head around, noted that the guy was far enough behind her that she would be able to climb over the fence. "You know Dad, now really isn't the time," she tried to say, holding the phone between her ear and her head as she scaled the fence.
"Now is definitely the time Samantha. You were shot and didn't tell me," he exclaimed again as she jumped down from the other side of the fence and started running back in the direction from which she came. If she could get back there then she could finish the op. "You have to tell me these things. I can't just keep hearing them from Fury," he argued and she rolled her eyes.
"In case you haven't noticed, this is the only thing I haven't told you, okay? And that was only because I'm pretty sure that most of the whole thing is classified," she answered him with a smirk she was thankful he couldn't see. She continued to run back to the nightclub where her suspect was probably trying something on Natasha. Samantha felt sorry for the assassin, the woman was stuck pretending to be a hooker while Samantha was a waitress. Meanwhile, Steve got to sit at the bar all night.
She approached the back door, adjusting her red-headed wig, so that it looked like it was her natural hair "Are you at a nightclub?" her father asked over the phone and she breathed out in annoyance.
"I'm going to have to go Dad," she said before promptly hanging up the phone and heading towards the bouncer at the door "Jsem zaměstnanců. Jsem pozdě vrátil z mé přestávce, je mi líto," she informed the tall, muscly guy in perfect Czech – yet another language she had recently discovered she had learnt - and he opened the door "Děkuji," she said politely as she walked through the back door and into the nightclub, picking up a tray of drinks from a side table and bringing it over to the table where Natasha was flirting with their suspect and three other men "Дозвольте мені вгадати, віскі для вас, сер," she said in Ukrainian to one of the gathered men as she handed him his drink "Коньяк для Вас," she said to another, handing him his drink "Горілка соди для вас," she said to their suspect, handing him a tall glass of clear liquid before handing a drink to Natasha saying "І біле вино для вас мем" Natasha nodded to her and Samantha nodded back.
"Your Ukrainian is very good," the suspect said to her before taking a gulp of his drink "And you have very good taste in Vodka," he added and she smirked.
"Well you are VIPs, sir," she replied with a Czech accent, a flirtatious grin on her face. She hated doing things like this, flirting with men and wearing provocative clothing in order to get their man. She understood, now, some of what Natasha had always felt.
