THE MYSTERY LAKE OF CASA ALCHOMEDRA: LAKE OF THE DEAD

It was already dark in the woods, I was just following the light coming from the moon when I heard something odd.

The huge trees start to dance, and the leaves start to fall, as I feel the cold breeze coming from the North.

I stopped walking when I felt something strange, I started to wander around, but there was no one.

I shook my head and then started walking when something rough and cold encircled my legs.

My eyes went round when I saw a woman; her half body was like the body of a snake, it was gold.

I stared at her; her eyes were glowing in the dark as she gave a lopsided grin.

My chest rose and fell into rapid breaths when she tightened her tale around me, trying to suffocate me.

I tried my best to escape but it was too late...

"Kairo! Hey! Wake up! We're already here!"

I suddenly open my eyes and start to survey the surroundings.

I held my chest and let out a heavy sighed. Nandito pa rin ako sa loob ng bus at wala sa puso ng kagubatan.

It was just a dream--or a warning?

I shook my head, then grabbed my things to follow my colleague.

"Hey! Gising ka na pala! Kadiri ka pre, tulo laway ka pa kanina!" Nginisian ko na lang si Adonis at saka nakinig kay Ms. Alawi.

"Today, we're having our tour in Alchomedra forest, wherein we can see different kinds of plants, species, and interesting ones. Do you know the mystery of Casa Alchomedra?"

Everyone shook their head we didn't know about that mystery.

Our teacher smiled at us before she continued.

"There was a legend that a half-human snake was living in the heart of the Casa Alchomedra, the forbidden lake."

Agad namang nagtaas ng kamay ang iba naming kaklase.

"Bakit po tinawag na forbidden lake ang Casa Alchomedra?" tanong ni Cherry, ang class president ng section namin.

"Because it was too dangerous if you meet the mysterious Andromelia. It was a half-woman snake. Her half body was full of gold with chants written on it."

When I heard the word "chant" bigla akong naging interesado.

"If someone can understand the meaning of the chants, that someone will be granted a wish. Andromeda, also known as Serpentine, was a goddess of wishes, but be careful. If you fail, she will eat you."

Nagtilian naman 'yung ibang mga kababaihan, natakot ata dahil sa sinabi ni ma'am.

"Geez! That's scary!"
