Yoongi arrived at Hoseok’s hidden house, rage bubbling beneath his calm exterior. He didn’t bother knocking. With a swift kick, he busted the door open, the sound echoing through the small home.
Hoseok barely reacted, turning his head nonchalantly while feeding the baby with a bowl of cereal. “What are you doing here?” he asked, rolling his eyes. “And try entering more nicely next time.”
Yoongi’s eyes twitched in frustration. Namjoon was right—Hoseok didn’t feel any remorse. How could he be so calm after everything?
Outside, Jungkook dropped silently to the ground, a satisfied smile tugging at his lips as he finally discovered where Hoseok had been hiding. Without hesitation, he flew away again, not wanting to be caught before he could put his plan into motion.
Back inside, Hoseok paused, sensing something amiss. “Did you bring someone with you?” he asked Yoongi, his voice laced with suspicion.
Yoongi furrowed his brows, shaking his head. “No, I came alone.”
Hoseok frowned, his senses sharp. He had felt another aura for just a second. Shrugging it off, he returned his attention to feeding the baby.
Suddenly, Yoongi growled, storming towards Hoseok. He yanked him away from the baby with such force that Hoseok’s chin slapped against the table, causing the baby to cry out in shock.
Hoseok immediately pushed Yoongi away, his eyes flashing a dark black as he glared at him. “Don’t ever pull me like that again,” he warned, his voice dangerously low. He turned back to the baby, soothing him gently, wiping his mouth, and removing the food before petting him to sleep. The baby calmed instantly, dozing off in Hoseok’s arms.
Yoongi scoffed, feeling a mix of anger and disbelief. How could Hoseok be so gentle with a child and yet so heartless with everyone else?
Hoseok looked at Yoongi, his expression cold. “We can talk outside,” he suggested. “I don’t want to wake the baby.”
Yoongi didn’t respond, simply turning and walking out of the house. Hoseok watched him go, then looked back at the baby, Aster, and placed a protective shield around him before stepping outside, closing the door quietly behind him.
The moment they were outside, Yoongi lunged at Hoseok, grabbing him by the neck and dragging him close. His breath was heavy with the weight of his pent-up rage.
Hoseok looked completely unfazed. “If you want to do this,” he said, his tone almost mocking, “let’s take it to the bedroom.”
Yoongi screamed in frustration, shoving Hoseok away and slapping him hard across the face. “Who the hell are you?” he shouted, his voice breaking. “You killed my father, and you can’t even pretend to feel remorse? At least pretend!”
Hoseok gritted his teeth, his hand instinctively massaging his stinging cheek. He turned to Yoongi with an almost hurt expression, the real Hoseok surfacing for just a moment. But Yoongi didn’t notice, too blinded by his anger.
“I hate you!” Yoongi spat, his voice cracking with emotion. “I hate you for killing my. father!” Tears welled in his eyes, the grief finally hitting him like a tidal wave. He moved forward, pinning Hoseok against the wall, his hands trembling. “You’ve won, Hoseok,” he choked out. “You’ve finally broken me. And after everything… I still fucking love you.”
Yoongi jabbed his pointer finger against Hoseok’s forehead. “Do you hear me? I still love you, and it hurts because I’m in love with my father’s murderer.” His voice was laced with agony, the words tearing at his heart as he spoke them. “I did things to you, Hoseok, but you did much worse by killing him.”
Yoongi stepped back, his eyes filled with a mixture of anger, sorrow, and confusion. Hoseok stood there, staring at the ground with a conflicted expression. The real Hoseok was battling inside, the darkness threatening to swallow him whole.
“Tsk,” Yoongi tsk'ed, turning away from him. He spread his wings and flew into the night, leaving Hoseok alone with his demons.
As soon as Yoongi was gone, Hoseok’s knees buckled, and he collapsed to the ground, leaning his back against the cold, brick wall. Tears streamed down his face, his chest heaving with silent sobs. “When will this torture end?” he whispered to himself, his voice barely audible. “I’m tired… so tired of killing… of hurting people… but I can’t stop.”
His eyes, which had been black in Yoongi’s presence, slowly shifted back to their natural brown. The real Hoseok was back, the one who felt the weight of every sin he had committed. Covering his mouth with his hand, he cried heavily, the sound muffled and desperate.
“I’m sorry,” Hoseok whispered, the words barely escaping his trembling lips as he broke down completely, the darkness consuming him once again.
