Something about this week felt busy and I was counting down the hours until the weekend. Tuesday I was in the office presenting the luxury sweater marketing campaign to our client. Le Pull des Capitaines [The captains sweater]. The promo to be sweaters as different features of the sailboat. A sweater as the flag on the boat, hanging off the mast, and so on. The last clip to be the person wearing the sweater behind the wheel. I would be helping the media team with video and photos next week to help catch the correct vision. I'd leave the quality of the production up to them.
It was one of my more important independent projects so I was surprised to be signed onto another client this immediate week. It would be a five person team because it was an ambitious Italian company trying to make a major mark among the coast of France and Italy. Our meeting with Spruzzo, an Italian canned spritzer drink, would be on Thursday next week, so our first brain storming meeting was this morning. I was eager for it to become lunch and it would officially be the weekend.
Ben, Tony, Danielle, Cynthia, and I sat around the conference table. Our boss Brianne was sitting in on the brainstorm meeting because it would be one of the bigger clients. She introduced the product to us. A trending non-alcoholic wine spritzer in a can.
The moment Danielle heard the company product she shifted in her seat grumbling her disagreement beside me. I had to focus on hiding the grin on my face after catching a few of the comments.
"They want fun and creative branding. Maybe an ambassador for the company so it's something that can be ongoing," Brianne listed off.
"I'm at a loss for now," Danielle shared out. "Someone give some motivation."
"Keep it in a close proximity but share it between countries. Choose their cities like Nice, Monaco, Genoa. Once we gain popularity in those areas continue spreading."
Danielle and Ben agreeing.
"You said non-alcoholic right," Cnythia asked and Brianne confirmed so Cynthia continued. "Has anyone seen Peroni's non-alcoholic beer promotions. It's so creative and fun? I mean we can't use the same idea but it could give us great inspiration."
"Sure," I hummed out with similar responses to the group.
Cynthia smiled pulling her phone out and screen casting onto the big tv at the front of the room. "Literally the best ambassador," she said clearly getting excited to show the idea. She wasn't my favorite coworker due to an always happy energy that was exhausting but she was good at her job. Danielle on the other hand was constantly annoyed by Cynthia.
Cynthia narrated every button she was clicking. If I just click here. Go to insta. Peronis page? Maybe personal account. I glanced over at Danielle as I sipped on my coffee to see if she was giving me her side eye which indeed she was. I gave her the best look of be nice which only made Danielle shake her head.
"Ah perfect, personal account," Cynthia blurted making me turn my head to the screen. The soccer ball caught my attention first, a casual energy to the picture, and the Peroni in hand. "Charles Leclerc, the perfect example of an ambassador," Cynthia said proudly.
The coffee going down my throat caught only for a moment as my body tensed. Enough to make me cough sending the coffee in my cup to splatter in front of me. My hand went to my chest as everyone looked to me, Danielle chuckling quietly beside me.
"There there, Charles Leclerc has that impact on everyone," Danielle said knowingly, and evilly, as she reached over patting my back. I put my coffee cup down clearling my throat and giving her my side eye.
"You okay," Tony asked from the other side of me. I nodded straightening up.
"Continue," I said motioning to Cynthia trying to get the attention back on the presentation.
