When Luke and I get back to the basement, everyone's asleep. Elliot sleeps on the massive bean bag while David sleeps on a reclining arm chair. Drew is sprawled out and snoring on the sectional. The only space open to sleep is the other part of the sectional that Drew isn't on.
"I'll sleep on the floor." Luke says quietly.
"Are you sure? I can sleep on the floor," I whisper, careful not to wake anyone up.
"It's fine," Luke says, grabbing one of the throw pillows from the couch and positioning it on the floor in front of the couch. Afterward, he grabs 2 blankets from the closet next to the staircase.
"Thank you," I say as Luke hands me a blanket.
Luke settles down on the carpet with a sigh, stretching out his limbs. The blanket barely covers him, the bottom part of his legs sticking out from underneath.
I lay down on the couch, which is spacious and comfy, and I try to relax, but I can hear Luke tossing and turning on the floor.
"Are you okay?" I huff, not forgetting my previous annoyance with him from the party.
"Mhm." he grunts, rolling over once more.
"Luke,"
I hear him toss and turn.
"Luke?"
"Yeah, princess?"
I sigh, "you can sleep next to me if you want". I sit up, "the couch is big enough".
"It's fine" he grumbles.
"C'mon, I'm gonna take the offer back if you're going to be like that" I say, laying back down.
"...Okay" Luke picks up his blanket and pillow, and I scoot over so he can lay down next to me. The couch is big enough that we can lay down side by side, but due to Luke's sheer size I'm pressed up against the back of the sofa. I expect to feel claustrophobic, but surprisingly, Luke's presence is comforting.
"Don't cross the boundary," I warn, placing a long throw pillow between our bodies.
"Yes ma'am" Luke responds, looking into my eyes.
I yawn. "Good night, Luke"
"Good night, princess"

Mmm, so warm.
I try to roll over but I'm stuck.
Where am I?
My eyes slowly start to open.
Oh my god.
Luke's face is inches above mine. He's asleep, his eyebrows furrowed. His breaths are steady, and I hold my own, careful not to wake him. He looks so peaceful, beautiful even. My eyes sweep over his defined jaw and notice his growing stubble. Bits of sunlight filtering in through the window highlight light freckles that litter his cheeks and nose. I didn't notice that before. He looks like an angel sent from heaven.
Violet, pull yourself together. This is Luke you're talking about.
But still, I don't move. I relax in his arms and lean my forehead onto his chest. Our breathing starts to sync and my eyelids grow heavy. I might not like the guy, but I could get used to this...

"Aw, she's so cute"
"Mmm" I groan, knitting my brows together. My eyes open slowly, adjusting to the light in the room.
"Good morning, bean" Drew smiles at me. He's sitting on the couch with a controller in hand. Next to him, David glances over indifferently. He's a bit preoccupied though, his focus on some FPS game on the TV.
