chapter one
Damon's Replacement

Hotch looked up at the knocking on his office door. A woman with long brown hair and brown eyes stood at the door. A brown leather jacket covered her arms and shoulders well a bag hung over her body.

"Agent O'Connor, since to finally meet you" Hotch said standing up from his desk. She shook his head. "You too" she nodded. "Well we have a case so I'll introduce you to the team then we'll get to it" he said as she nodded. "You can leave your bag here" Angel put her bag down on the couch that sat on the wall of Hotch's office.

Angel followed him to the conference room, everyone looked at her when she walked in. "Everyone this is Angelica O'Connor, she is our new agent." Hotch introduced, as everyone nodded. "Angel" she cut in. "She's Damon and Alex's replacement?" Derek asked bluntly. "No, I'm the new Agent, not some replacement, and just to let you know, I don't wanna here anymore then you want me here." Angel cut Hotch off before he could talk. She sat down next to JJ.

Penelope smiled at the words that came out of the new girls mouth but had to begin the debriefing on the case.

"Okay, three males have been found in random areas of Texas. All of them have been stripped of their clothes and covered in one blanket made out of plastic. And the most disturbing part is that all of these men were found without faces, like completely cut off." She pulled up photos but chose not to look at them. "This is really disturbing so I rather not look at the photos for a second time but have your fun with them" she said as Angel looked.

She could feel another set of eyes on her but she chose to ignore them. Looking at the photos in front of her, it was different from being a cop but also very familiar. It was weird.

She thought the FBI was gonna be a change for her but from the way it was looking for her, there was nothing new except a new fancy badge.

Hotch looked over at her, he knew she was regretting her decision of taking this job, not from the graphic photos or the meeting tables but the fact that she didn't see anything new. He could tell because of how she was sitting, how she was leaned back, looking up at the screen with a board look in her eyes. He knew this change wasn't gonna be easy but it was gonna have to do. She was a good cop from what he's heard and damn stubborn too, but the biggest thing he heard about her was her attitude to detail, which Strauss had told him.

As the team listened to the case Penelope was telling them about, she finished. Barely any questions asked since she had sent everything to the iPads.

"Do you have a paper version?" Angel asked Penelope as Spencer looked up. "I can make one" she nodded as Angel thanked her.

"You like the paper copies?" Spencer asked her as everyone looked at her too. "I like to write" she shrugged walking over to him as she looked at the case well Penelope went to get her a paper copy.
