A/N; To start off with... I'M FREESTYLING THE BEGINNING! (At least until I know where I'm going, I dunno. Hope y'all enjoy this zesty masterpiece of my first Ghostxreader fanfiction. :33

Also, I'm making my own mission thingy for them to do cuz' I'm too lazy to remember all the campaigns and pick.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Helicopter rides on average weren't that annoying to me. But helicopter rides for 3 hours straight through a high level snow storm was a different kind of pain.

Occasionally I had to get up and walk around the little bit of space we had, and usually that would be dangerous and frowned down upon, but the 2 other passengers didn't seem to give a shit so neither did I.

Eventually, when we landed outside the base on nothing but the icy, cold surface, a sigh of relief escaped my mouth.  As I stepped out onto the snow-covered earth, I felt the instant invasion of a chill already in my frozen boots.

Walking across the ground in nothing but cargo pants, a tank-top and a light flannel jacket (and of course boots) tugged over my shoulders was considered crazy to any sane person here, but I guess that's why they called me.

Because they needed someone crazier then their 'best' to one-up this mission.

And apparently their best was some wanna-be cool guy that went by the name of Ghost. It sounded childish. Stupid, even.

Up ahead I noticed some guy, standing there with a mohawk and wrapped in layers upon layers of jackets and clothing.

"Ah! You guys made it! How exciting." He exclaimed as the two people that came with me handed him on of my bags. They shook hands.

"Nice to see you again McTavish. Or isn't it Soap now?" My guy hummed out.

"It is Soap." He nodded.

That's worse than Ghost. I thought, turning my gaze across the snowy field as far as I could see, given the storm was blocking more than 5 yards in sight. I felt a hand come down on my shoulder.

"So! Your Sage right? That's your call sign or your real name?" Soap asked, his attitude a harsh contrast to my agitated one. I brushed his hand off, moving away.

"Callsign. Do not touch me." I muttered, eyeing him. His smile faltered slightly.

"Well, I'm sure you'll get along just perfectly with Ghost." He grinned.

I said nothing else as my people exchanged a few more words with Soap and I swung a bag over my shoulder. We silently started to walk blindly through the storm. I hoped he knew the way to his base.

"You know, I just outta' let you know that Ghost is a bit rude when he's got some competition. Especially since your another LT. Well, he's rude in general but-" He rambled. I quickly cut him off.

"Stop talking. I'm not here to be apart of your fucking squad or 'get to know' everyone. Not here to converse. Not here to be buddy-buddy. I'm here because you guys can't do your job." I snap, shooting him a nasty side eye. "Do not speak to me unless you think the words that come out of your mouth will be any use to me."

My gaze was hardened as we continued through the storm, and I had shut him down real quick.

"You know-" He started.

"Shut up." I growled.

Eventually, as we made it to the doors, he moved the open it for me, but my arm cut him off as I opened it for myself and walked in.

I glanced around, my eyes narrowed as a strong wave of heat began to hit my face and skin and thaw me out. I then turned my head to see him walk past me, gesturing me to follow.  He was leading me to my own private barracks room, with a bathroom inside.

I walked in, glancing around for anything out of place or strange that I should potentially be worried about. Satisfied after a few moments, I dropped my bag on the floor and folded my arms, looking to him to see if he had any other things he needed me to do or he needed to show me.

As he placed my other bag down, he glanced around for a second before meeting my own harsh cold eyes.

"Okay, all really that needs to be done is that you personally meet captain Price." He muttered, his joyful attitude shriveled up in front of my cold demeanor. I nodded, following him out of the room after shutting the door behind me. As we walked, I kept watchful eyes on all of the surroundings, memorizing every square inch of this structure.

He led me into a very kept office that had not much in it. It was just a temporary base after all. At the desk sat a mid-aged man with a thick, dark bear and safari-looking hat. He stood, his hand outreached to shake mine. I returned the gesture.

"Sage, I am so glad you made it here safely." He said, his voice sounding professional and almost wise. I had a feeling he would be the only guy here I would come to truly respect.

"Yes. Thank you." I replied.

"We will be engaging with the mission more in approximately 2 days. In between that time, feel free to train, rest, converse, whatever makes you most comfortable here. We're glad to have your assistance." He continued. I nodded my thanks.

"I will. I appreciate your welcoming gestures." No, I will only the first two.

He nodded and I left the office after he gave me a dismissing. I stood outside in the hall for a moment before glancing at Soap.

"Is that all?"

"Yeah." He nodded. "Hey, please do consider making yourself known to the others. Well, not known, cuz' they already know of you and that you're here, but like, actually try to say 'hi'. You know?"

I was half-way down the hallway by the time he finished.

"Oh- okay! Well, we'll be having dinner in a bit!! Feel free to join us!" He called out before I took a sharp turn into my room and locked the door.

I stared around the empty room for another moment before unpacking a few things, trying to get myself a bit more comfortable. After a few moments, I flopped down on my bed.

This was gonna be a long couple of days.

A/N; Sorry if that was short! I just needed something to get started with!! Hope y'all liked the pilot chapter at least :33
