I am a young fiction writer and was deeply attracted to this story. So, I decided to portray the story in detail for my readers.
The story takes place in a gloomy old mansion, which is perennially filled with an eerie atmosphere. The house is a famous haunted house in the area that people avoid. And this is where the story of the Zombie Bride begins.
One night, the moonlight poured over the windows of the ancient mansion, casting a blur of light and shadow. A young woman, Xiao Yue, unintentionally intrudes into this forbidden place. She discovers a dusty room filled with old-time dowries, the most striking of which is a stiff, mummified bride. Koyuki is scared out of her wits, but her curiosity drives her closer to the mummified bride and she discovers that she wears a string of mysterious runes around her neck.
Xiao Yue decides to investigate this mysterious zombie bride in depth. She finds out that the identity of the zombie bride is not simple by consulting ancient books. It turns out that she was a kind-hearted young girl in her life, and because she fell in love with someone she shouldn't have, she broke the rules of her clan and became a zombie after death. And that string of runes is her last connection with the human world. Only by finding someone who can decipher the runes can she be brought back to her peaceful grave.
Xiao Yue searches around for someone who can decipher the runes and finally finds an ancient Taoist priest, Lao Li. Old Li is an experienced exorcist, and he immediately recognizes the magic of the runes. He told Xiao Yue that the zombie bride had unfinished business in her life and needed help to fulfill her wish in order to be freed.
Xiao Yue and Lao Li return to the old mansion together, and they find that the zombie bride seems to have been waiting for someone. It turns out that she had fallen in love with a poor scholar in her lifetime, but they could not be together because of the status gap. After the death of the scholar, she has stayed in the human world, waiting for his reincarnation. Xiao Yue and Lao Li decide to help her fulfill this wish.
After much trouble, Xiao Yue and Lao Li find the reincarnation of the scholar - a young painter. They tell him the story about the zombie bride and her obsession with love. The young painter is touched and he decides to meet with the zombie bride to fulfill their promise.
One night in the old mansion, the young painter reunites with the zombie bride. They talk to each other, and the painter paints a portrait of the zombie bride, in which she is beautiful and sad. At this moment, the Zombie Bride finally gets the love she longs for.
Fulfilling her wish, the zombie bride chooses to leave this world and return to her grave. Because of this experience, the young painter has a deeper understanding of life and death. He decides to put the portrait of the zombie bride on public exhibition so that more people can understand her story. At the same time, he also invites Xiao Yue and Lao Li to attend the opening ceremony of the exhibition together.
On the day of the exhibition, the ancient mansion was packed with people. When the portrait of the Zombie Bride appeared in front of the crowd, the scene fell into silence. The painting seemed to have a magical power that made people feel the power of love and the subtle connection between life and death. Xiao Yue also gained a new knowledge and understanding of life as a result.
After the exhibition, Xiao Yue, Lao Li and the young painter became friends. Together they guarded the story about the zombie bride, making it an eternal legend.
