On a rainy night, the hospital morgue seemed especially eerie. The cold wind howled through the windows, creating a strange wailing sound. Xiao Ming, a new orderly, was assigned the night shift at the morgue. Despite feeling scared, he reluctantly accepted the task.

As the night deepened and the rest of the hospital quieted down, the silence in the morgue became unsettling. Alone in this death-filled place, Xiao Ming couldn't help but feel a chill run down his spine. He forced himself to stay calm and began his routine of checking each corpse.

When he reached the last body, a strange feeling overcame him. The corpse was of a young woman, her face pale, eyes closed, yet Xiao Ming felt as if she was staring at him. His heart began to race, and cold sweat formed on his forehead.

Just then, the lights in the morgue started to flicker, casting intermittent shadows that seemed to suggest something ominous. Xiao Ming's breathing grew rapid, and he tried to calm himself, but fear clung to him like a shadow. Suddenly, he heard a faint whispering sound, like someone speaking softly. He looked around but saw nothing.

The whispering grew clearer, seemingly coming from the direction of the woman's body. Xiao Ming, wide-eyed, leaned closer to the corpse, trying to hear what she was saying. As he drew near, her eyes suddenly opened, empty and cold, staring directly at him.

Terrified, Xiao Ming stumbled back, his legs trembling, barely able to stand. He wanted to flee, but the door, for some unknown reason, was locked. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't open it.

The temperature in the morgue plummeted, cold air enveloping him. Xiao Ming's body began to shiver, and the eerie whispers echoed in his ears. He felt an invisible force pressing down on him, making it difficult to breathe.

In his desperation, Xiao Ming noticed a small window on the wall. He desperately ran towards it, hoping to escape this nightmare. However, as he neared the window, he saw a horrifying sight. Outside, a dark figure appeared, ghostly and glowing with a strange light.

Xiao Ming's heart nearly stopped; he couldn't believe his eyes. The shadow slowly moved closer, exuding a deathly aura. Consumed by fear, Xiao Ming found himself frozen, unable to move.

Just as the shadow was about to reach him, a sharp cry pierced the silence. Xiao Ming snapped back to reality and realized it was just a night cat. Taking advantage of the distraction, he threw himself against the door, which finally gave way. He bolted out of the morgue.

Back in the break room, Xiao Ming's nerves were still frayed. He decided to report the incident to the other staff, but they dismissed it as a result of stress and exhaustion. However, Xiao Ming knew what he had experienced was no hallucination. The terrifying scene would forever be etched in his memory.

A few days later, Xiao Ming resigned from the hospital. He couldn't bear the eerie atmosphere and terrifying experiences any longer. However, the memory of what happened in the morgue haunted him. Every night, he would recall the woman's eyes and the eerie whispers, as if they were following him.

Years passed, and Xiao Ming had started a new life. One day, he overheard a story about that hospital. It was said that many years ago, a series of mysterious deaths occurred in the hospital morgue, and the spirits of the deceased still wandered there.

A chill ran down Xiao Ming's spine. He began to wonder if his experience was connected to that legend. Determined to find out, he decided to return to the hospital.

As he stepped through the hospital doors again, a familiar sense of dread washed over him. He approached the morgue, hesitated for a moment, and finally pushed open the door.
