In a remote mountain village, there is a mysterious and ancient temple fair held only on the fifteenth day of the lunar seventh month, said to honor the deities of the mountains. Chen Yuhao, intrigued by the legends surrounding this fair, decided to visit the village on that day to experience the event firsthand.

Upon arriving, Chen noticed an eerie atmosphere surrounding the village. The villagers had serious expressions, as if concealing some secret. Following the crowd into the fairgrounds, Chen saw various strange stalls selling items he had never seen before.

His curiosity led him to a stall featuring an array of masks. One particular mask caught his eye with its lifelike appearance. The stall owner, a taciturn old man, handed Chen the mask, whispering, "Wear it, and you will see a different world." Chen hesitated but was ultimately driven by curiosity and put on the mask.

Instantly, the world around him became blurry, and the people seemed strange and unreal. Chen felt a rising fear as he realized he had entered a twisted space where nothing was as it seemed. He tried to remove the mask, but it felt like it was stuck to his face.

Lost and terrified, Chen wandered aimlessly through the fair, confronted by horrific sights. Pale faces emerged from the darkness, their eyes filled with despair and sorrow. Desperate to escape, Chen found himself trapped in an endless maze with no apparent way out.

In a moment of near despair, Chen heard a girl's desperate cries. Following the sound, he arrived at an ancient temple with a faint light streaming through the crack of the door. Chen pushed open the heavy door and entered, only to be met with a putrid smell and walls covered with strange paintings. In the center of the temple was a large altar with the girl bound upon it.

Rushing to free her, Chen was horrified to see the girl's face contort into a malicious grin. She mocked him, saying, "You can't escape. Join us in being trapped here forever." Panicked, Chen noticed dark shadows encroaching from all sides, emitting a deathly aura. His heartbeat raced with an unprecedented threat to his life.

In desperation, Chen remembered the old man's warning and frantically beat on the mask, hoping to break the curse. Finally, the mask shattered with a sharp crack. Instantly, the terrifying scenes vanished, and he found himself back in the real world of the temple fair.

Breathing heavily, Chen fled the fair, never daring to look back. He buried the experience deep in his memory, resolving never to venture into such mysterious and perilous places again. The horrifying experience left a lasting mark on him, teaching him that some things are best left undisturbed, as hidden dangers often lie behind mysterious façades.
