Arjun Fest Partner : Hi

Me: you are up? So late?

Arjun Fest Partner : yes

Me: Why?

Arjun Fest Partner : I am actually outside. Of your house

I sat straight. What is he saying? He's outside?

Me: What?! Now?

Arjun Fest Partner: yes you left your purse in my car. And so I came here to return it.

Me: you could have given it to me tomorrow at college.

Arjun Fest Partner: I couldn't. I wouldn't be coming tomorrow.

Me: my god *a girl pating her own head emoji*
Me: okay wait I am coming. Don't ring the bell or anything. Everyone is sleeping.

I put on a shrug and go down at the main entrance. I wear my rubber slippers and open the main door. There he was. Standing. Beside his car.

"Hey!" He said

"At the middle of the night, but hi."

"Here's your purse."

"Thank you."

"You were awake? So late?"

"I was listening to music."

He smiles at me. We were standing under the midnight sky. It was so beautiful. I had never seen how the sky looks at midnight. The stars were visible. The roads were quiet and peaceful. It seemed like a different place.

"You are enjoying the view aren't you?"

I was distracted by his question.

"I have never been out at night. I mean midnight. At this hour. My family is very particular about all these so they donot let me."

"Then you have not seen how Kerela looks at night?"

"Yeah. But I wish to see someday."

"Do you know that kahawat(metaphor)?"

"Which one?"

"Kal kare so AJ kar. AJ kare so ab."
(Do it as soon as possible)

"Noooo. I know what's coming. No no it is a big no."

"Come one you have come out of your house at midnight. You can do this too."

"My parents would kill if they find out."

"We will be back soon."

One part of me always wanted to see the NIGHT KERELA. But the other half was bound to listen and obey my parents. But it was my chance. I was the night. There was a car, a companion. This was my chance. If felt like everything was pre-planned for me. I decided,

"Okay I am coming. Let me grab a pair of keys."

"Be careful. Don't get caught."

I go inside. I grab my keys. While exiting the house I said sorry to ma and baba for what I was going to do. And then I locked the door.

"Get in."

He was already inside his car. I get into the seat beside the driver's seat. He started the engine and the car began to move. And there we were. On the streets of kerela. At midnight.

"Oh I can't believe I did this. Mujhe pakka paap lagega (I am doing a sin)."

"Enjoy the drive first. Think about all these later."
