( Silver wolf pov)

It's been a month since I first noticed a difference in Y/n behaviour . He's been busier than usual, always finding a cause to be gone. We used to spend our off-duty time together, talking, gaming, or just hanging out, now it seems like he's drifting away.

At first, I didn’t think much of it. Everyone has their own life, their own things to handle. But as the days turned into weeks, the excuses started piling up. "I’ve got something to take care of," "I’ll catch up with you later," "I’m just a bit busy right now," he would say. But how many "later"s and "busy"s does it take before you start to question things?

Silver Wolf is sitting on her bed, her gaze fixed on her phone. She scrolls through the messages she’s sent to Y/n over the past few weeks, noticing the one-sidedness of their conversations.

Silver Wolf (thinking): It’s like he’s avoiding me… but why? Did I do something wrong? No, that can’t be it. If something was bothering him, he’d tell me… wouldn’t he?

She tosses the phone onto her bed, frustration bubbling inside her. She gets up and starts pacing her room, trying to make sense of it all.

Silver Wolf (muttering to herself): That idiot… always making me feel this way, like I’m getting further and further away from him as day passes , Does he distrust me already? We’re supposed to be a team, aren’t we? So why do I feel like I’m losing you?

She slaps her cheeks with both hands, trying to snap herself out of her spiraling thoughts. The sting of the slap isn’t enough to shake off the unease that’s settled in her chest, so she buries her face in her pillow, smuggling herself into its comforting softness. She shakes her head frantically, trying to push away the feelings of doubt and worry.

Silver wolf: (in the mind) This isn’t like me. I’m supposed to be focused, logical, but every time I think about Y/n, my mind goes haywire. Why is he being like this?

As she lies there, her mind drifts back to the last time she tried to reach out, to pull him back into their usual rhythm.

(Flashback)

Silver Wolf spots Y/n walking down the corridor, his usual confident stride looking a bit off. She quickens her pace to catch up to him, determination in her eyes.

Silver Wolf (casually): Hey, Y/n! Got some free time later? I found this new game we could try out.

Y/n glances at her, his expression unreadable. He hesitates, as if weighing something in his mind, before giving her a forced smile.

Y/n (apologetic): Sorry, Silvey ,I can’t today. Got some things to take care of… maybe next time?

Silver Wolf hides her disappointment behind a smirk, masking the sting in her chest.

Silver Wolf (lightly): Sure, next time then. Don’t take too long, though, or I might beat it without you.

Y/n nods and walks away, leaving Silver Wolf standing there, her smile fading as she watches him go. The hallway suddenly feels colder, emptier, as she’s left with her thoughts.

( Back to the present)

Silver Wolf shook her head, trying to snap out of the memory of her earlier encounter with y/n. He had been distant, his excuses piling up like unplayed levels in a forgotten game. She knew something was off, but now wasn’t the time to dwell on it.

Silver Wolf: There's no point in worrying over it now. I have to get to the bottom of it.

Determined, she decided to shadow y/n the following day, hoping to discover what had been occupying so much of his time. She followed him quietly through the corridors, her steps as silent as a ghost. He made his way toward Firefly's room, and Silver Wolf felt her heart tighten. She crouched low behind a nearby crate as the door opened, revealing Firefly, dressed in a way that was far too put-together for just another day on the ship.
