Nadia wakes up on the couch and Quincy is gone she checks her phone and he texted her -Good morning sleepy head, I left early because I have work but Ill slide later on if you want. I also locked your front door bottom lock- she liked the message and then replied with -Thank you so much and of course you can slide- she smiled and then went to instagram and checked Mica's and Junes stories. They were having a ball and then she checked mutual's story and saw Serena and Dayquan holding hands and Diana and Kelly with his friends. She didn't unfollow Serena, Kelly Or Diana she just stayed far away from there instgrams. Nadia decided to repost a post that said Loyalty is everything. And the first four to see the post was none other than Serena, Kelly, Diana and Dayquan. Nadia decided to go the gym in her neighborhood to take her mind off everything. She grabbed her headphones, and gym bag and headed to the gym. She stretched and then focused on her core and arms today. She finished her workout in three hours and headed back home. She was still bored so she took a shower and headed to the Fashion District downtown. She stopped in Primark grabbed some sleep wear, then she went to Sephora, Ulta beauty, nike, Pandora, Forever 21, and then when she had what she wanted to she stopped at Auntie Annes. She took a flick of all the bags on her table and captioned it -had to end it off with Auntie Annes- She posted it to her story and then got an Uber back home. She got an incoming facetime call from June.
"Hey babes how are you" June asks
"I'm okay I just went shopping and earlier to the gym"
"Okay I was just checking on you also I know that you do not need to hear this right now but Serena is talking mad shit about you. Of course when we were at sixflags I stopped her and stood up for you but I just thought you should know."
"Thank you June bug"
The doorbell rang and Nadia got a text from Quincy saying outside
"Who is that?"
Nadia got a little flustered
"Nobody June"
"I see your face you better tell me about him later, love ya"
The phone call ends and she opens the door
"Heyyy" she says
"Wassup"
He comes in and they sit on the couch
"How was work Quincy"
"It was good"
"Where do you work?"
"I work at a warehouse in Jersey"
"Okay Mr warehouse"
He laughs
"I never asked but how old are you?"
"Oh Im 19 I have a late birthday I'm a Sag what about you"
"I'm a Aries "
"Ayeeee big fire signs"
They both laugh
"So what's your plans for life"
Quincy stands up grabs the wine and some glasses and pours them each a glass
"Thank you, well since you asked I want to a marine biologist I know Im a fire sign but I love the water before I moved to Philly I lived in Cali, we lived on a beach and I would always be in the water. I love the aquatic animals they are so sweet but I really want to work with sharks"
"That cool as fuck I would've never guessed that you are from Cali"
"I'm not lol Im actually from New York, I grew up in the Bronx till I was 10 moved to Cali then came to Philly in the 9th grade"
"Damn Im from New York too I grew up in Brooklyn me and my moms moved here for my brother he has autism and they have a nice school for him here"
"Is that who was in the car with you when you were driving past"
"Yeah, he's 5"
"I wish I had younger sibling"
"Nah you don't" he says laughing
"Why not?"
"Its like having a kid in some instances and younger siblings are mad annoying sometimes"
They both laugh and finish the bottle.
"Can you tell me more about yourself Quincy" she asks sipping her wine
"Yeah I can, I grew up in Brooklyn with my mom and my dad life was good I had best friend Nathaniel we were super close he passed away two years ago. My mom cheated on my dad and that's how my little brother came along. My dad just up and left and said fuck everything. When I voiced my opinion about my mom cheating she kicked me out. So I started shelter hopping and still going to school. I found a job and a homie of mine Michael, his dad was a realtor and he let me rent out one of his apartments in North Philly. I graduated top of my class and decided that I didnt want to go to college I worked at this warehouse since I was 17 and I got a promotion last month and now I make about $25 an hour. I never felt bad for myself because I never had the time to. I only push forward. Me and my moms been working on our relationship for the sake of my little brother because its not his fault that my mom cheated. I don't have any family other than them and my homie Michael. I was Michaels best man at his wedding last year and Im a god dad to his twins Anthony and Isaiah. Right now Im just focused on the grind and that's it"
Nadia nodded her head
"I'm glad that you got through those rough times and that you created your own family basically"
"Yeah I love Micahel to death he is like a brother to me, fuck that he is my brother "
"Did you ever have a girlfriend?"
"Yeah but she broke up with me for another nigga that had more but now shes a single mom to two kids, he got locked up for drug trafficking"
"Gah damn, what the fuck"
"Yeah her life turned out for the worse"
"Yeah yikes"
"What about your family you told me a little bit but not the whole story"
"Yeah, so my mom she works for a big corporation and she travels to Beijing a lot and Tokyo, she got this job when we moved to Philly and with her experience she kept getting promotions. My brother graduated high school when I was in 10th and he decided to go off to the army so he's stationed on some Island I forget. My dad died when I was 14 he was a police officer and died after doing a routine traffic stop by some guy high off a bunch of drugs. It was sad but he was barely in our lives he had a whole second family one boy and one girl. My mom started doing monthly business trips when I got to 11th grade. She sends me a bunch of money and I have my own credit card and I can even buy a car but I just miss my family. Serena was like family to me so that's why it hurt so bad, she knows everything about me like every detail. That's why it broke me"
Quincy lifts her chin so she can look at him
"You are not broken Nadia you are just hurting and that's okay but don't put negative words out there or you will start feeling like that"
Nadia looked at him and then kissed him, he kissed back and she wrapped her arms around him. They both felt a spark and felt like their hearts were beating out of their chest. Nadia felt so warm inside and not alone. He felt like he wasn't alone anymore as well. They pulled away before going to far and he caressed her cheek. They turned on a movie and watched it until they fell asleep.
