Aly was nervous. She was nervous because they had just landed in Nova Scotia, 'they' being the film crew she'd travelled with. They'd collected baggage, collected the keys for the people carrier so they could pack everything and head over to the hotel which was located in Halifax. From there, it was only a thirty minute-ish drive to Cole Harbour where they'd be doing most of their filming and work for the next week and she'd sent Sid a text message to let him know they were there. The original plan was for the film crew to go up a few days ahead to scout locations but the travel administrator had misread her email and booked them all on the same flight so she'd had to go to Canada a few days earlier than planned, which wasn't so bad but it did mean she had a day or two before she had to work.

She'd lucked out with her hotel room once they got there and checked in, she had a gorgeous corner room with a balcony that wrapped around and it was so light and spacious. The rest of the crew were a few floors below but she didn't want to stay near them and upgraded her room, it had been totally worth it. The views were gorgeous and the weather was perfect, meaning a few drinks in the sun was absolutely happening and there was only one person she'd thought to invite.

Aly showered, applied sun lotion and got dressed in a crop top and some cute little denim shorts and opened up the big French doors to the balcony. She kept checking her phone to see if she had any notifications and eventually there was one text message that said they were on their way and she got a little excited, the second she heard the soft tap on her door she ran over and opened it, hugging them as soon as she could.

"Taylor!"

"I'm so happy you're here!" She laughed. "I've been looking forward to drinks for so long."

"Come in!" Aly pulled away from her and stepped back, allowing Taylor inside.

"Woah! Nice room."

"Yeah, I upgraded myself." She shrugged. "There's a pool above me so if you feel like drinking cocktails on the roof, we can do that or we can drink them on my balcony." She pointed to the open doors. "It's gorgeous out there, there's a menu by the phone."

"A menu?"

"Cocktail menu."

"Oh shit, you're wanting to start now?" Taylor laughed and put her bag down on the chair. "I thought we were gonna go to a bar, I even wore heels."

"We can go to a bar if you want."

"No this is better, I've already had two people stop me and ask me how my brother is doing." She sighed. "It drives me crazy sometimes."

"How is your brother?"

"He's fine, he's--" Taylor stopped herself when she saw the playful look on Aly's face. "Very funny."

"Come on." Aly laughed. "Let's have a drink."

Aly and Taylor had sat out on the balcony, having decided to order a few cocktails and some bottles of beer that room service kindly brought up for them. The bottles remained in an ice bucket whilst the cocktails were drank and they got comfy, it was the first time she'd not felt nervous since getting to Nova Scotia. However, the second she relaxed it was literally minutes before the subject of the conversation turned to Sid.

"Sid's going to be so mad when he finds out I'm here."

"Why?" Aly took a sip of her drink and swallowed so hard that it almost sounded like a gulp, the man did things to her with just the mention of his name but she didn't even know what those things were. "Why would he be mad?"

"I think he'll have FOMO when I tell him I was with you, he likes spending time with you."

"What do you mean?" She faked ignorance but Taylor definitely saw through it.
