Red decides not to skip his first class, but he'd probably skip the rest. And perhaps on Friday once again.
He just wants his roommate to socialize. Not in a weird way, of course. He'd finally gotten a roommate and he felt like he still stayed in the dorm alone.
Red decided to change that, since he told himself to skip on Friday!
'I hate you,' Ash said. He was currently being pinned down on the couch by Red's legs. Red sighed and looked at his roommate. Maybe he was overreacting- no, Ash was definitely overreacting more than he was!
'Listen, Ash, you can go cower back in your cave sooner or later, just cooperate, goddammit!' Red replied, straining to keep Ash in place. It's clear that Red himself dragged Ash out of his room, whether he liked it or not.
'Okay, okay, fine!! Just today!' Ash gave in, looking extremely uncomfortable. That was justified, his stomach was being crushed so badly it was a shock he hadn't imploded yet.
The redhead wasn't listening at all, though. He was watching the fucking news out of all the channels. Something about murder, the local bank getting robbed again, economy issues, more murder, just the usual. Ash groaned.
'Get your nasty legs off me,' he complained. Red complied and crossed his legs.
'Sooo, are we goin' out?' asked Red, hoping for a 'yes'. Ash rolls his eyes and nods reluctantly.
'Okay, we'll go to the mall on Friday!' Red exclaimed.
'Wait, what, I thought maybe just a simple walk-'
'Get ready,' Red interrupted, tensely glaring at Ash behind his sunglasses. Ash thinks maybe he just wears it to look cool. Or perhaps they had a prescription.
'Oh uh yeah I'll get to that,' Ash murmured, lost in his thoughts. He promptly returned back into the safe space which was his room.
'Glad we could come to an agreement!' Said Red, loud enough for Ash to hear back in his room.
To cure his boredom and restless excitement, he decided to take Ash's idea and go out for a walk around the campus. He's bound to meet somebody to talk to there.
As he walked around the campus, he ran into a few familiar faces, like Spoke. Anyway, he also ran into Spepticle sneaking around- wait!
'Spep, what the fuck are you doing here?' Red asks.
'Uh.. hi Red. Um. I just.. wanted to visit you?'
'How'd you get in though? Anyway, wanna-' Red was rudely interrupted by Spepticle.
'Ok. Yeah, um. Bye,' Spep said, who thought it was the most appropriate time to sprint away. He had run very fast; Red didn't bother to catch up with him.
Nevertheless, he continued walking aimlessly. This was maybe the second lap around the campus's courtyard.
Oh, he just bumped into Branzy. 15 seconds ago. He focused his vision and looked behind him, Branzy also walking away.
'Um, sorry Branzy!' Red calls out.
'Oh, hi!' Branzy said, turning around as Red approached him.
'You're skipping?' Red asks.
'No. It's lunch.'
'Oh.' Red looks away for a little bit. Was it already that late? He looks back at Branzy. 'Anyways, uh, can I invite you to something?'
'Wow, uhm, sure? It depends.'
'Are you comfortable with skipping tomorrow?'
'Maybe.'
'Mall?'
'Can I inv-'
'Don't care. Do whatever.'
'Okay! What time?'
'I'm forcing Ash to come.'
'Who?'
'Unfortunately, this guy's my roommate now. I guess it's better than none but still. He's annoying, his room.. smells, he got me to do his laundry yesterday, he's...' he rambled on and on.
'I didn't catch the last part of whatever you said, but I think I'm not supposed to.'
'Just text me tonight or something, I'll let you know when to go,' ensures Red.
'Alright. Nice talking to you!' exclaims Branzy. In hindsight, Red now realizes that Ash will probably kill him. He still goes on with it, because what a good roommate he is, right? And also, surely Ash can't hurt him that bad.
Red continued wandering around the campus as Branzy continued walking away from him. He ends up in some hallway. Wait. He saw someone approaching him slowly, so he turned to run, because they were probably a hall monitor.
Thank the heavens he was related to Spep. He sprinted away, back to the courtyard. He remembered that Branzy had said it was around lunch now. He glances behind him. Nothing of whoever that was.
He should go buy them lunch to compensate for the future. There's a McDonalds near. Ash is probably the type of person who likes fried chicken.
Sometimes Red forgets he has money. Thanks, inheritance. He still goes to McDonalds because, fuck, why not? The cashier may or may not be someone he knows.
'Good afternoon,' said the cashier. Unfortunately, he did not know who the cashier was. He kinda looked like Spoke, though.
'Hi, can I get a.. um, chicken.. meal. With fried chicken. And fries.'
'Get to the back of the line,' the cashier snapped, rolling his eyes.
'WAIT- NO-' Red managed to stutter out something about two fried chicken meals quickly before he sat down, waiting for his order.
The employee noted that down and after not so long, Red was walking back to the dormitory with two McDonalds paper bags in his hands.
He kicks the door down. He kicked the door open. He decided that he'd rather kick the door down than set one of the bags on the floor or hold them both with one hand. I'm digressing.
His roommate is unsurprisingly in his room. Being the 'polite gentleman' he is, Red decided to knock instead of kicking the door down again.
'Fuck off!' Ash yelled, not even opening the door.
'But I have chicken!' Red protested. 'You need to eat proper meals.'
'Just leave it by my door,' Ash instructed. Red did leave it by the door, a bit disappointed.
Ash opened the door and took the chicken. Yum yum. Oh. Shit, he was starting to tolerate his roommate. Eh, there were benefits. Such as – he opened the paper bag – free McDonalds!
He stepped away from his desk and began eating. Maybe going to the mall with Red wasn't going to be that bad.
'If Red is gonna pay for everything, why not?' he thought to himself.
---
Hopefully he wasn't going to regret tagging along. Anyway, it was not like he had a choice. Red would probably drag him there himself.Sorry, Ash.
