Staying at the tavern run by Uter's friend was quite pleasant. They were served grilled meat for dinner, and the room they slept in was exceptionally large by tavern standards.
The boy felt someone touching his face.
- Hey, hey. I didn't know you were such a sleepyhead- the first thing he saw that day was Misu's pale face
- I'm not, it's just that the sun hasn't risen yet, so my body didn't want to either.
- Ahh, this body, nothing but trouble. Get dressed, because if Uter comes in and you're not even wearing your underwear, he'll crack a joke and we'll leave you here without breakfast.
- No, we won't leave him- said the friend of the fairies as he entered the room- the mask would go to waste, and I paid quite a bit for it. But that doesn't change the fact that you have one minute to get dressed.
Under the cover of the fact that the sun had not yet risen, they headed towards Uter's family palace, where his cousin lived.
- So, how will we know where the ring is?- Yuso figured this was the last moment to ask the question that had been on his mind since the beginning of the mission.
- We'll ask- Uter replied as if it were the most obvious thing in the world- This is actually a good time to present the plan. We go in, head to the room where my unfortunate cousin is, interrogate him, take the ring, and then we escape.
- What's his name?- Misu immediately liked this plan
- Good question. Give me a moment... Strange, I remember where his room is, but not his name. Um... Ny... Sy... Sy... Got it! Synen, his name is Synen.
- I understand it's better if one of us addresses him, right?
- Yeah, probably. Though I'd like to scare him a bit, I don't like him much. I can change my voice a little; we'll see how it goes.
The Nightaker family palace turned out to be quite large, some might even say enormous. They jumped over the fence and entered through one of the many side entrances. According to Uter, this entrance was used for bringing in and out girls who would jump onto your lap with the jingle of coins. Up until entering the palace, everything went according to plan—according to the family member, the palace was a lively place, but between around three to six in the morning, everyone except the guards was usually asleep, and the entrance for the night ladies wasn't guarded. However, you needed two keys for the door and to know that there was a passage under the bushes by the wall. Inside, they also didn't see any guards, as they only guarded the most important rooms in the palace, which were on the higher floors. After some slight difficulties finding their way due to the darkness, they finally reached the door behind which was supposedly Synen's room.
Inside stood a wardrobe and a bed, and on it lay the object of their interest. They closed the door behind them and leaned over the sleeping prince. From his face alone, he didn't look like an interesting candidate for a husband—the boy couldn't pinpoint exactly why, but that was his impression. Maybe it was due to the knowledge he had?
Misu approached the bed, leaned over, and snapped her fingers sharply on his nose, then covered his mouth with her hand. The chubby prince woke up and was about to scream in fear at seeing three masked figures above him, but his mouth was covered by someone's hand.
- You'll answer with a nod for yes or no, understand?
He nodded yes, which relieved Yuso, as it would have been hard to learn anything if Synen had a panic attack.
- We came for the engagement ring for your wedding with Tanja. Do you know where it is?
Nodded no.
- Should I tear off a fingernail from your right or left hand?- Uter asked in the lowest voice he could muster, and the prisoner began trembling with fear
