"Wouldn't it be kind of you to set me free?" My voice is hoarse from screaming all night. Having my hands tied down and my body bruised from the abuse. He laughed, "You think I will let you easily?" He leaned down and grabbed my chin "You're mine! Your body, Your heart, Your soul is all mine!" I trembled as he growled the words. What have I done to deserve this I have nothing unique nor am I something rare. I am just a broken girl whose parents abandoned me
One Month later
The rays of the sun came through the window, and the white sheets of the bed spilled over the body. Downstairs you could hear my grandma talking and my grandpa making breakfast. Everything was peaceful, as I stretched my body, I walked over to the bathroom and looked at my reflection. My arms and legs had scars, tears welled up in my eyes.
One month had passed since the incident and it still haunted me I blinked my eyes and didn't let my tears spill. I don't want to cry, I want to scream, No I don't want to scream, Yes you do. I had an internal discussion but I didn't let out my scream or my tears. As I undressed myself I hopped into the shower and started to wash my dirtiness I scrubbed hard where I saw the scars, and I felt disgusted, disgusted of myself.
I walked out of my room and greeted my grandparents dancing to classical music, I leaned against the wall and stared at them. They were lovely smiling at each other, I have always wanted to be loved by someone I wanted to feel tenderness, but it all crumbled when I met Elliot.
I was in love with him I thought our relationship was the definition of true love, but it wasn't. He was cruel, he manipulated me, he took advantage of me, he was a monster. I noticed that what we had was not love it was something toxic something that I had to escape ASAP. I was too late to realize I was way too much involved in our relationship.
"Soojin, take a seat!" My grandma said as she started to prepare the plates. "Rose come on, let's start eating" My grandpa had already taken his seat. I walked over to the table "I enjoyed your dancing Mr. and Mrs. Choi" I giggled as they blushed at my comment. We started to eat and talked about them having dancing classes and how they met in their dancing performances. We laughed and joked around everything was joyful.
Until the doorbell rang, "Are we expecting any guests?" I muttered, I started to shake my leg and my palms started to sweat all of a sudden memories started to flood, How Elliot would ring that bell to come pick me up, that same doorbell that rang throughout the house to let me know he was here for me.
Grandpa opened the door there was a package on the floor and the Amazon van was driving out of the driveway. I started to breathe slowly and stopped shaking my leg, grandma walked towards the door and helped Grandpa pick up the box. "Let me help" I suggested, since they were already in their 70's they had back problems. I rushed towards the door and picked up the box before they could reply.
