"Yo, Taehyung man can you pass me your blunt for a sec?" Namjoon asks as he plops down next to Taehyung on the couch. Taehyung gives a quick nod, taking a final drag before handing the joint to his friend. He used to hate smoking before he got into college, but now, he prefers getting high over getting drunk at parties. Alcohol makes him too wild and emotional. Right now, with their new semester nearing, feeling relaxed and chill is more what he needs.
"Fuck, this ones strong." Namjoon coughs after taking a drag, quickly passing it back to Taehyung, who laughs and puts the joint back between his own lips. It's always the same story; Namjoon usually doesn't smoke but ends up asking for a drag when he's had too many drinks. One night, the guy even smoked four cigarettes and spent the entire day after regretting it. They often tease him about it.
"Namjoon oppa, if you think that's strong already, you should try Yoongi's."
Yoongi snaps his head at the mention of his name, "Give him a break Jia. He's not a stoner like you." He defends, to which the red haired girl laughs. Normally a comment like this might come off as offensive, but his is just how their friend group jokes around.
"Kim Taehyung, I leave for only an hour and come back to find you smoking weed again." His head snaps up at the sound of his girlfriend's voice. She's walking over to them, raising an eyebrow with a teasing smile on her lips.
Taehyung sighs, tired to have this conversation again. "Jen, you know I only smoke at parties."
"You go to a lot parties though."She sits down on his lap and wraps her arms around his neck."Now you smell gross." She says.
"Not as gross as Yoongi. Weed king." Jia says, earning a 'hey!' and a soft push from Yoongi.
Taehyung grins, turning his attention back to the girl in his lap. "Well maybe you shouldn't kiss me tonight then." He says.
Her smile proofs that she's too drunk to actually care about Taehyung's smoking. "Oh I can still do that." She replies and she's about to lean in but stops once their noses touch.
"Not again, please," Namjoon groans, causing Jennie to chuckle as she gets up from Taehyung's lap and takes a sip of her drink.
"Nah, Tae needs to brush his teeth first."
"No kisses from me until tonight, then," Taehyung shrugs, and Jennie rolls her eyes. Meanwhile, his friends dive into a conversation about Namjoon's ex being back in town, but Taehyung's attention drifts as he spots a familiar figure descending the stairs. The guy looks around with doe eyes, seeming like a lost puppy, and Taehyung can't help but smile at the sight.
Jeonggukie.
Taehyung has been thinking about him, wondering why he hadn't shown up yet. There are a lot of students here tonight, and he hadn't really searched for Jeongguk. They had planned to meet, but neither had sent a follow-up text.
It's a perfect coincidence that Taehyung sees him the moment he enters the room. It makes the perfect moment to go and check on him. He's really curious to find out how his friend's night had been and what he has been up to. It's his first day of college, and Taehyung knows it can be daunting, especially since Jeongguk is shy and soft-spoken. Honestly, all he wants is for him to feel safe and okay here. If he hasn't made friends yet, Taehyung will make sure he's included.
He stands up, informing his friends he'll be right back, finding his way to the kitchen where Jeongguk is heading. He is too focused on finding Jeongguk that he doesn't even realise Jennie is following behind him.

Jeongguk is drunk when he gets back into the room downstairs. But that doesn't stop him from walking over to the kitchen to get more beer. He wants more beer. It's fun.
