Something even worse than ending a night of heavy drinking with crying, is waking up the morning after with a hangover. Jeongguk groans as he sits up, smacking his alarm clock off with more force than necessary. His head pounds, and his stomach churns like he might vomit at any moment. He takes his phone from the charger, surprised to see a bunch of text from yesterday. He must've passed out on his bed the minute he got home.
Min:
Wait for me!! we can go home together. Where are you?
Min:
are u homr already?
Min:
this hot girl is asking about youuu
Min:
oh my god i made out with someone
Tae:
are u okay?
Min:
Taehyung hyung was looking for you. Told him you went home.
The last texts instantly make Jeongguk feel guilty as he remembers how abruptly he left last night. Meeting Jennie had been.. something. He's not even sure what to make of it. All he knows is that he couldn't deal well with the situation in his drunken state. And his reaction might have not been completely valid, but can't beat himself up too much, yesterday were a lot of new impressions after all..
He decides to respond to the texts later, realizing he's already running late for his first class. Mingyu is still asleep, and Jeongguk vaguely remembers his roommate mentioning that he had an afternoon class today. Not wanting to wake him, Jeongguk quickly freshens up, throws on some clothes, and grabs a bottle of water from the fridge before rushing out the door.
He makes it to his first class just on time, out of breath from sprinting across campus.
His head is throbbing, and his stomach is still queasy, but the classroom is buzzing with energy. Other students are practically bouncing off the walls, while Jeongguk can barely stand the light—he really doesn't get how people can be so energetic in the morning.
"Hey! Jeongguk right?" A girl with bright orange hair slides into the seat next to him. She gives him a wide smile, and it's hard to recall where he knows her from.
"Hi.. uh..?"
"Yeojin, we met at the party yesterday? You were pretty noticeable at the beer pong game." She smiles, and he recognizes her. It was the girl he won the game of yesterday.
"Ah, right! I beat your team pretty well, didn't I?" He grins.
"Hate to admit it, but yeah. By the way, is it okay if I sit here?"
"Of course." Although he was praying no one would sit next to him just two minutes ago, he knows he should make an effort to be social on his first day.
"You left early yesterday?" She asks, pulling some books out of her bag.
"Uh yeah, wasn't feeling great. Did I miss anything?"
Yeojin chuckles, ""Not much, just your friend taking a body shot off my friend." She replies, "And them making out after."
"Fuck." Jeongguk laughs, shaking his head as he remembers Jimin's text. He will have to ask him more about that later. "So it was your friend?"
"Yeah, her name is Chloe I think she was on your team yesterday."
"Wait the one with blonde strands? I remember her! So Jimin and her really hit it off, huh? I can see the vision."
