Ray walks into the ballroom, his determinded to end this all today. Katie has been receiving death threats and pictures of herself. After the first shock, she went into survival mode, she actively kept an eye out for every threat that could come her way. In a way, she started to behave like Ray. Focused on each others safety.
Ray knew that this was his chance to get Chen. Mickey walked in with Chen's mother, Nuwa Ming, linking arms, he was leading her through the crowd. Ray knew exactly how dangerous this plan was.
He forgot to text Katie before they left for this event.

The crowd is full of rich but shady people. Ray runs his eyes through the crowd to spot Chen, but he isn't here yet, he notes. This ball is Chen's, it's a modern skyscraper building, they are on the 45th floor in a huge two storey ballroom. Ray's mind is racing at a rapid pace.
Then Chen appears on the balcony, his and Ray's eyes meet.
,,He's here, boss. Nuwa get ready, follow me.''-Ray says into his earpiece so that Mickey and Nuwa Ming can hear him.
Ray begins to make his way up and outside onto the balcony. When he arrives Chen is standing with his back to him.
He raises and points his gun at him. Mickey and Nuwa arrive to the scene.
,,It's over Chen. We came here to make you one last deal.''-Mickey starts.
But then Chen slowly turns around, Ray's hear drops. Chen is holding Katie with one hand and a gun to her head with the other.
Ray's blood in boiling, adrenalin is rushing through his head. He's scared like he has never been before. He's feeling every emotion possible but his main feeling is that he has failed for good. He's lost the game and he's going to lose Katie.
,,I don't think you're in the position to offer me deals anymore.''-Chen replies and pushes the gun closer to Katies head.
She doesn't make a sound, she locks eyes with Ray, her eyes fill with tears.

During her lunch break, she received an email invite to a fundraiser ball. It was sent from Ray and although she though it was a bit unusual for Ray to not mention this beforehand, she picked up a black dress and drove to the given address.

Thinking that Ray was surprising her there. But when she arrived, Chen greeted her. Ray's putting the pieces together in his head about what could have happened. Both of them has fallen for a lie. It's clear that the email was sent from Chen, to trick Katie.
