Hello pretty people
I am back with the new chapter
Hope you will like itTara PoV
I had a friend who lives in Delhi and I asked him once what kind of place is Delhi and I still remember his words, he said "Delhi, the heart of India, is a city where ancient history and modern life intertwine seamlessly. It's a place where the past whispers through the towering walls of centuries-old forts, and the present hums in the bustling markets and crowded streets. From the majestic Red Fort to the chaotic lanes of Chandni Chowk, Delhi is a melting pot of cultures, languages, and traditions.
In this sprawling metropolis, the scent of freshly brewed chai mingles with the aroma of street food like chole bhature and golgappas. Rickshaws weave through traffic, while the metro glides smoothly underground, connecting people from every corner of the city. Here, every corner has a story to tell, whether it's in the quiet courtyards of old havelis or the vibrant energy of Connaught Place.
Delhi is not just a city; it's a feeling, a rhythm, a pulse that beats through the hearts of its people. It's a place where the old coexists with the new, where every sunset brings a thousand different stories to life. For anyone who's ever walked its streets, Delhi is a memory that lingers, a home that never really leaves you."
Since then I always wanted to live in Delhi and finally I am going to check one task from my to-do list. We just landed in Delhi and it's raining a lot and the weather is very pleasant. It's like Delhi is welcoming me with open hands and I can feel this chapter of my life is going to be fun.
After a long hussle with traffic we reach our flat. It needs some cleaning, apart from that it's very cool. It has three rooms with attached bathrooms, and there is one common bathroom in the hall. Then there is a cute kitchen, a hall with a balcony. I enter my room and it has an attached walk-in closet and a balcony with a sitting area. It's pretty, I love it.
I am looking around my new room when my father calls my name and I go out to check why he is calling me. He is in the small room at the corner and when I enter, I see a cute library and I just know this will be my favorite place in this whole house.
After looking around the house we both get to the cleaning part. We are both done with cleaning in the evening and I am starving. The growl of my stomach is also stating the state of my hunger. Dad is also tired and he just smiles after hearing the growls coming from my stomach.
"What do you wanna eat? Tell me I will make it for you." Dad asks and I just look at him. He is tired and hungry just like me and he still wants to cook for me. "You are not going to cook anything, I am gonna order something. We both are tired toh kitchen ka subhaarambh kal hoga. (The inauguration of the kitchen will take place tomorrow.)" I tell him with finality in my voice.
Dad just smiles and says "okay okay do what you want. I am going to take a shower." and he leaves to take a shower and I open my phone to order some food and then I will also take a shower before the food comes.
After one hour the food comes in And we both eat and then go to our rooms to sleep. Today was a tiring day and I just want to lie down on my bed. After freshening up I lie down and think about all the things that happened in the past and things that I want to do in future and I don't know when I fall asleep.
Next day I wake up and it is a little sad to wake up in an unfamiliar environment. I miss my room but I know that soon enough I will be able to get comfortable in my new room. I get up from the bed and freshen up. When I go outside I see my father cooking food. He is singing and looking very happy. I think he needed this new phase as much as I needed this.
I am just looking at my dad when he says "how long are you going to stare at me? Do I sing so well that you are getting mesmerized?" I just scoff and say "Stop obsessing over yourself so much old man, it's not good for your health." We both laugh and start having our breakfast.
"What are your plans now? Do you want to look for colleges or do you want to look around Delhi for the next few days?" He asks me. I think about it and after a minute I say "Firstly I will call Rudra" "Rudra? That guy who shifted to Delhi and you cried a lot." Dad asks. I remember the day he told me about him shifting to Delhi and I cried a lot that day because to me he is the only friend whom I can trust blindly and he was always there for me so at that time it felt like I was losing my everything.
"Yup he is the one. Now that I am here I really want to meet him. I will think about what to do next later." I tell him and he smiles and says "good luck then. Have fun with your friend and tell me if you need me. Just give a call okay?" I just give him a smile and nod my head . After finishing our breakfast, dad goes to his room to get ready, he needs to go to the office.
After sending off dad I look through my phone and my finger is roaming on his name and there are many questions going inside my head. Will he still remember me? What if he doesn't want to talk to me and what if he is angry and doesn't even pick up my calls. Before I could think of any more negative scenarios I clicked on his name and then I could hear the call ring. I am scared and my palms are sweating because I am nervous but I really want to talk to him.
After 3 rings he picks up the call.
R: Hello?
T: Hey, Rudie boy! Recognize me, or did you forget about me?
R: How could I forget my darling? You're my precious friend who never checks her phone.
T: You know how it is—that woman never lets me have a moment's peace. And anyway, you didn't contact this precious friend of yours either.
R: I'm really sorry. A lot's been happening, and everything's been such a mess. I truly am sorry.
(I can hear the panic in his voice—just what I needed to know how much he missed me.)
T: Okay, okay, Rudie, it's fine. Now, guess where I am right now.
R: Where are you? Don't tell me you're in Delhi.
T: What if I say I am?
(There's a long silence on the other end, but I can tell he's still there, processing.)
R: Woahhhh... Where are you right now? Tell me! I'm coming over right now. Send me the address, NOW.
T: Okay, okay, calm down! Come soon—I've missed you a lot.
R: Yup, on my way!
And I sent him my address and now I am more nervous because I am going to meet him after 2 whole years. Rudra is my childhood friend. We have been friends since nursery. I shared everything with him and he was my secure place in this cruel world, but when we were in 11th grade his father received a better job in Delhi so, he shifted to Delhi with his family. After that, our talking sessions became more and more less frequent and eventually we lost contact and became busy in our lives.
I was busy surviving with that lady and I was too exhausted to check my phone or message anyone and he was busy with his studies and school. But now that we are both meeting again I am excited and nervous at the same time. I really miss my best friend.
I am thinking about all this when I hear my doorbell and I run to open the door. I open the door and it is none other than Rudra on the other side of the door. As soon as I spot him, my heart skips a beat, and before I know it, I am pulled into the tightest hug, as if we're trying to make up for all the missed time in one embrace.
"Oh my God, I can't believe it's really you!" I exclaim, with a bit of a laugh and tear in my eye. "You haven't changed a bit... except maybe that haircut and height!"
Now that Rudra is with me finally I know this chapter is going to be very fun and full of laughter.
That is it for this chapter
