I groggily opened my eyes, my head was throbbing in agony. The forest floor was spinning under me, and I was struggling to sit up. Thane... where was he? I looked around when I remembered the shadows were dragging him away, and my heart raced with fear. Fear of losing him, like my father. I stumbled back to my feet, my legs were still trembling beneath me.

"THANE!" I screamed at top of my lungs, my voice was echoing throughout the forest. But there was no response. Nothing at all.

I took a deep breath and began to run toward the direction where the shadow disappeared with thane, my feet were pounding against the earth. I have to find him. I have to save him. The trees got blurred like sentinels guarding secrets as I sprinted through the forest, my senses were heightened.

I was continuously running toward the forest. I was getting far away from the outer boundary and heading toward the main city. I forced myself to keep moving, my legs were aching with the pain and my lungs were burning through the inner flame. The darkness was pressing in around me, making it very hard to breathe. I trip over few roots and fallen branches, my heart pacing with every snap and creak.

Suddenly, I saw a faint light at some distance ahead of me. I picked up my pace, my heart just forget to beat. Could it be Thane? Was he trying to signal me?

I was going closer to the source of light, I realized it was just a faint glow coming from a strange symbol engraved into the trunk of a tree. I slowed my pace down, my eyes were fixed on the symbol. It seemed to pulse with a soft, blue light, like the one Thane had drawn in his letter.

I felt a surge of hope. This had to be a sign from Thane. Yes, it must be him. It has to be him. I hold the pendant tightly locked around my neck and followed the symbol, my heart was pounding in my chest. The trees were too close to me, casting deep shadows that made it hard to see.

But I kept myself on the track, driven by my determination to find Thane. The symbol led me deeper into the forest, the light growing brighter with every step. My heart was filled with fear as I was reducing the distance between the light at the end of the forest.

What if I don't find Thane there? What if it is just a deviation from finding Thane? I was so confused. My legs were moving till I reached at the opening of something like a...... cave, the source of light. I stepped into it , the darkness covered me like a shroud. I felt a presence of something around me, like unseen eyes watching me, my every move.

My heart was beating with anticipation, my senses were on high alert. I could feel the weight of the Aethereian language on the note, carved on the stone in front me, the secrets were hidden within its words.

"Kyrencia arkeia" - the secrets are in Kyrencia.

This Aethereian language was quite similar but with different dialect not similar to Eldrador's. I tilted my head my eyes were assessing the language. I repeated the phrase to myself, trying to decipher its meaning.

Kyrencia, the battle field of the Aethereian kingdom. What secrets lay within its walls? What secrets do I need to find? I moved forward, my footsteps were resonating off the stone walls. The air grew much colder, the silence was more oppressive. I could feel the presence of someone coming closer around me, making my skin crawl.

Suddenly, I heard a faint whisper in my ear, the words unclear. I spin around, only to find a heavy layer of darkness and silence . I felt a gush of fear into my soul, my breath was almost trapped in my throat. What was happening? Was I losing my mind?

I knew I had to keep going forward, no matter what lay ahead. I had to do it for my brother, for Thane. I don't care if the unknown is waiting for me with an open mouth. I gather my courage. I was Lyra. Thane's sister I can't back down from fears. I went deeper into the cave, the darkness was swallowing me whole.

But then, a faded glow caught my eye - a lit candle, flickering like a beacon in the darkness. I approached it slowly, cautiously, my heart was beating the shit out in my chest. When I moved closer I noticed something next to the candle, again.....a note was carved into the stone:

"Save your brother... Get into the Selection Camp"

My breath was trapped somewhere within me. Who could have written this? And how did selection camp is connected with Thane?

As I leaned in closer to examine the carving, I noticed something strange. The stone seemed to be... wet. I traced the carving with my finger, and it was damp with moisture.

Who write this? And what's with this moisture?

But then, a more sinister thought came to me. What if it wasn't a person who wrote this at all? What if it was... the Shadow?

I felt a wave of fear, my mind racing with possibilities. Am i the reason Thane got kidnapped........was I the aid of shadow? Ir was I walking into a trap? The frustration took over me, finding Thane or bring the cause of his kidnapping don't know what hunted me more but I was feeling a warm, heated blood flooding through my veins. My body was like a hot ball of fire.

"I WANT MY BROTHER!" I screamed, my voice echoed through those dark stone walls. My anger was igniting like a wildfire, burning hotter with every passing moment. Flames were dancing in my eyes, casting flickering shadows on the walls.

My curly red hair whipped around me, a fiery halo was pounding with my increasing rage. My skin glowed with a fierce, golden light, as if the very fire of my soul was bursting forth.

I raised my hands, and flames erupted from my fingertips, casting a blazing glow over the cave. It was not some small fragments of flame, it was not the gentle heat giving warmth. It was scorching fire burning every ounce of object that comes before it. The air was filled with the scent of smoke and burning embers.

"WHERE IS HE?" I demanded, my voice was like a thunder. "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH THANE?" I shouted at the unknown.

The flames within me were growing and my fury was the fuel. I felt like I was not just a part of fire but I was the fire itself. We both were one. I was about to surpass the control which I have always maintained .

Suddenly sofr voice of a lady cut me through the drill of my fury, it was like a gentle breeze that soothed the flames of mine. "What brings you to my humble abode, young one?" she asked, her eyes were twinkling with a deep wisdom.

I stood there, I was still ablaze with the anger, but she calmly sat down on a nearby stone. Her frail frame seemed to defy the weight of her years, her eyes were sparkling with a fire that was exactly opposite of mine.

"If you seek answers, child, you should do well to seek them with a clear mind and a calm heart," she said, her voice was dripping with a quiet authority toward me.

"Tantrums and flames may vent your emotions, but they will not illuminate the path to truth."

Her words got struck in my mind like a gentle rain, soothing the flames and calming the storm within. I felt like my anger was now disappeared, and was replaced by a sense of curiosity and wonder within me.

"Seek wisdom, not spectacle,"

she continued, her eyes were filled with a knowing light as if she knew everything......or most of it .

I was so intrigued by the calmness she brought to me. "Who are you?" I asked, my voice was barely more than a whisper.

"I am some sort of guardian " she replied, a hint of a smile was playing on her lips. "A keeper of secrets and a weaver of tales. And you, child, are a seeker of truth."

What does that even mean ? Who is this old lady and how am I supposed to find my brother ?

Read and enjoy💫😚
