Chapter 4 :

As she registered her position, Pravalika quickly pushed Aditya away with both hands and stepped back, her face flushed with embarrassment and fury. Aditya, surprised by her strength, nearly lost his footing but managed to steady himself. He noticed her eyes blazing with irritation.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to do that”, Aditya apologized, his voice sincere.

Pravalika, still seething, snapped at Charan,“Charan! Get the information from him. I’ll be in the vehicle”, and started to walk away.

“Oh, Miss, wait! I’m truly sorry. I didn’t mean to embarrass you. I can make up for it by giving you a crucial piece of information. The person you’re looking for had a skull tattoo on his right wrist”, Aditya called out urgently, not wanting her to leave without the vital detail.

Pravalika, halfway to the vehicle, stopped and turned back to him, her attention caught by the new information.

“What…?”, Pravalika asked, her voice tinged with uncertainty.

“Yes! I’m sure”, Aditya confirmed,“He had a skull tattoo on his right wrist”.

Pravalika narrowed her eyes, her suspicion evident. “Are you bluffing me?”.

The onlookers stared at her in disbelief, unable to fathom why she would doubt the word of the esteemed businessman, Mr. Vikramaditya.

Aditya chuckled at her skepticism and said,“Miss! I’m not a high school student trying to get your attention with lies”.

Pravalika’s annoyance flared at his casual demeanor. She was unaccustomed to being flirted with and found his behavior particularly irksome.

She took a step closer, her left hand casually resting in her pocket. “How did you notice that in such a short time?”, she asked, her tone challenging.

Ajith, Pavan, and Imran, who had arrived after sending the bus away, overheard the exchange. They too were taken aback, unable to believe that Aditya had observed the tattoo so quickly.

Aditya watched Pravalika with amusement, a smile of appreciation on his face. “Hmm! Not bad. You’ve clearly been thorough in your investigation. When the person was getting off the bus, he gripped the rod with his right hand. The tattoo was visible to me as I was standing to his left, and it caught my attention. Are you satisfied that I’m not lying?”.

Pravalika, slightly taken aback, nodded in agreement and turned to Charan. “Do you recognize this tattoo?”, she asked, then directed her question to the others. “What about the rest of you?”.

Before anyone could respond, Aditya interjected,“I can help describe the features for a sketch. What do you think?”.

Pravalika considered him for a moment before turning to her team. “Do any of you recall someone with that tattoo?”, she asked.

All shook their heads negatively except for Imran, who was furrowing his brow in concentration. After a moment, he exclaimed,“Yes! I’ve seen that tattoo on Gangu. He’s a local goon. I haven’t heard anything about him recently, though”.

“Are you sure?”, Pravalika asked, seeking confirmation.

“Yes, Madam! I’m 100% certain. He’s the one”, Imran replied with confidence.

“Gangu does have a scar on his cheek”, Charan added. “We have his records and photos. If Mr. Aditya confirms, we can move to apprehend him immediately.”

Pravalika nodded, then turned to Aditya. “If you provide your address, my team will come with the sketch artist. If you confirm the sketch, that’s great. If not, assist them in creating it. Understood?”, she instructed, her tone commanding.

Aditya shoved his hands into his pockets and met her gaze. “Is that all? Anything else?”.

Pravalika raised an eyebrow. “What? Did you forget to mention something?”.

Aditya chuckled and said,“You didn’t bring up the coffee”.

Pravalika shot him an irritated look and ordered her team,“You take charge and get confirmation about that person. I’m heading to the Commissioner’s office. If anything comes up, give me a call. Understood?”.

“Yes, Madam!”, the team replied in unison.

Without casting another glance at Aditya, Pravalika called Jeeva and got into the car, heading towards the Commissioner’s office.

Aditya continued to watch her until she was out of sight. Once she had departed, his team gathered around him. “Boss! Shall we proceed?”, Suraj, his personal assistant, asked.

“Suraj! Give them our office details and instruct the reception to direct them to me as soon as they arrive. I don’t want that impressive lady to face any delays”, Aditya instructed.

Turning to Charan, he asked,“What’s the name of that charming lady?”.

Charan was taken aback by the question, unsure how to respond. Ajith quickly stepped in,“Her name is Pravalika. She’s a SIT officer”.

Aditya repeated her name several times, savoring the way it felt on his lips. “Pravalika! Pravalika... Valli. Valli sounds lovely”, he mused silently.

He then turned back to Charan. “You seem quite protective of her”.

Charan, wary of Aditya’s interest, warned,“Sir! Please don’t interfere with her work. She won’t hesitate to make things difficult for you if she feels provoked”.

Aditya, clearly amused, whispered,“Are you trying to impress her? If that’s your goal, you might want to rethink your approach”.

Charan stared at Aditya, eyes wide, shaking his head. “No, no way! I respect her too much to let her face any problems. You don’t understand her. She’s not someone you should mess with. Please, stay away from her”.

Aditya, unfazed, nodded. “Hmm! You’re quite protective of her. I’ll judge for myself what she’s really like. But don’t worry. I have no intention of harming her”.

With that, Aditya turned towards his car, his bodyguards following close behind. He climbed into the vehicle, and the driver sped off toward their destination.

As they traveled, Aditya's mind was consumed by one person, Pravalika. Her fierce eyes captivated him, pulling him in like a magnetic force. He had met many women who tried to win his attention through beauty, charm, or seduction, but none had ever drawn him in like she did. Her gaze was magnetic, making him feel more alive than he had in years.

Vikram Aditya’s life was a whirlwind of meetings and business trips. It had become a monotonous cycle, leaving him frustrated and yearning for something more. Despite dating famous models, celebrities, and women from his business circles, none had resonated with him as a potential soulmate. Frustrated with his love life, he had withdrawn from dating, immersing himself in work.

Recently, a friend’s wedding in Vizag provided a rare opportunity for a break from his mechanical existence. Opting for a road trip over a flight, he enjoyed the drive—until his car broke down, leading him to take the bus. Meeting Pravalika had turned his regret into a sense of unexpected delight. Her intimidating aura paradoxically offered him a sense of peace, a comfort he hadn’t realized he was missing.

He couldn’t deny the allure of her presence. He wanted to be near her constantly, though he couldn’t quite grasp his own emotions.

Meanwhile, Pravalika arrived at the Commissioner’s office and asked the guard to notify Mr. Raghunath of her arrival. The guard nodded. “Madam! Sir is expecting you. He instructed me to let you in immediately. No need to wait”.
