"Alaric... I'm sorry," She stood there looking at me. Her violet eyes stared back at me. Like a warning. Her hand wrapped around his.

"No.. don't do this to me Seraphina," I called out towards her. Before I could blink again. She was gone.

In a cold sweat, I sat up clutching onto my chest the brown mahogany of the wall stood there. In all its tiles there was just silence in my room.

My bed lay empty all the sheets were rustled up. Not a peep. She was really gone. Seraphina was gone.

It was any other day. It had been 50 years since I had seen Seraphina. I haven't seen her since she left me for the Baron of Winter.

Nothing grew interesting. My business with the borders of fleeting enemies came and went. Villages in need of assistance, and tasks on labour all came to me.

As soon as the afternoon turned into a simple colour of purple and orange I decided it was time to head back to the estate. I hadn't wanted much since every day just felt like an endless loop of tasks and festivities.

As the sight of dandelions and daffodils came within sight and the estate in the corner of my eye I could see white. White? My head turned towards the gates to see a figure. A lady with black onyx hair and glacier-blue eyes stared at me. What did she want?

As soon as she came she left. My curiosity was piqued as I followed her. Who was she? What was she? What was she doing here? Running towards the gate only to see the fleeting colour of her white dress as she weaved her way through the forest. Her black hair faded in and out of my sight.

"Who are you!" I called out to the figure.

She didn't respond only weaving through the forest. Quicker and quicker her white dress began to fade into the colors of the pines. I followed swiftly after with my hand on the hilt of the dagger of my belt. My footsteps no longer sounded. The crunch of my boots became only a low swoosh of the wind.

As she disappeared around another bend, I quickened my pace. I knew these woods better than anyone else but still found it difficult to keep up with her.

As I followed her steps I began to slow. She stood there at the edge of the forest staring at the knolls. Flowers dressed on them like crowns and she stood there. Black hair flowed as the wind brushed against her dress. Seraphina. Was it her?

I began to creep up to her making sure my boots could make the tiniest of crunches.

"Hello there, Lord of Spring," The girl called out turning now facing towards me. It didn't sound like her.

My eyes widened to see a young girl. She stood there. She looked almost so familiar like Seraphina but, it wasn't her. Those glacier-blue eyes bore no resemblance to Seraphina's violet eyes. Her eyes were of foreign sight to me.

"What do you want?" I tried to ask out but it came more gruffly as a defensive tone.

"I am a messenger and emissary of Winter," She explained.

"What does Winter want with us now?" My voice was low and cautious as I remained implanted on my spot, my grip on the dagger tightening.
