There she stood. Smiling at me with her chest to mine. Her body flushed against mine.
"We're safe now my love... from her... We're sa-" Then she stopped talking.
Soon I could feel it. Her hands turned colder and I felt red stain my tunic... Blood. Blood seeped into my hands and my outfit.
She gasped onto the floor her body turning limp. Behind her stood the familiar sight of those devilish twisted horns. Its red eyes gazed at me as I stood implanted on my spot.
Then I woke up to a start. Again. Another Nightmare.

I sat up, beads of sweat dripping from my forehead. Clutching the sheets below me. Im safe. She's safe. Seraphina is alive.
I repeated in my head again and again as I looked at the oak tiles... home... but not home. My head turned towards the balcony to see the scatter of a kaleidoscope of colours sorted on the floor.
I got up, stretching my sore muscles and moving towards the balcony doors. As usual, my sight was greeted by the horizon of spires... as I was in one of the highest rooms I got a good view of the streets below. Chattering elves from left and right. I began to notice it wasn't only the winter elves. In my view, I could see many other emerging colours... orange, blue, and green... the summer court and autumn court were here too. Even my own. The sight of familiar colours and couture welcomed me and another rush of the cool air and winter scent emerged.
I had about a whole day until the ball tonight... the big event everyone was here for and was to stay for a month... for whatever reason. I didn't care. I'd probably just leave the second the ball ended... say my goodbyes to the city and to... Seraphina. I hadn't wanted to be here. But it was enough of Seraphina's presence to make my heart start.
Turning towards the door a knock came upon it.
I turned towards the door turning the knob of cold metal to be met by Lyra. Again.
"Good morning, Lord of Spring," She held a tray of food in her hands. Pancakes with a nice cup of tea.
As I walked on the side to let her in she placed the tray on my bedside. I noted the way she entered... Her black hair was down to her hips and she wore a dark blue satin dress incrusted with a light white snowflakes at her waist.
"You will have a few hours to explore the Frost's heart until our ball. Do you want an escort for today?" She said.
I turned to face her taking in her glacier-eyes once again before shaking my head. "No thank you."
"Then my lord... we wish you the best of luck. If you ever get lost please shout for me," She said before she went outside of the room. She exited as quickly as she came.
As she did I looked towards the tray of food... Red syrup covered it... red. Blood. I felt like I would gag from there but the rumble in my stomach woke me up from the thoughts.
Moving towards the food I took the bite. It tasted sweet. Sweet and fluffy just like a piece of cloud.
As I resumed to eat my meal I began to ponder... I should try to talk with Seraphina today. Maybe I could do it. Try to talk a conversation up again.
