8. you're pretty

Jennie stared at her phone screen just after her sister had cut the call. It was really rare for Jisoo to refuse lunch with their colleagues and the lawyers, who happened to work at the law firm at the opposite of the hospital.

"What is it, Nini?" Lisa leans towards her girlfriend with a questioning gaze. It caught the attention of the group that was sitting in the café, with one empty seat supposedly for Jisoo.

Jennie stared at Lisa so disbelievingly as if the world was going to end in seconds. "Jisoonie won't be joining us for lunch. She said she'll eat somewhere else."

"But I thought she was going to eat with us today!" Bona complained with her voice at quite a high pitch, making Jennie roll her eyes behind her back.

Bona always had a thing for Jisoo, and Jennie absolutely despised it. She already wasn't the fondest of Bona as a person, so when she learnt that Bona had a crush on her sister, Jennie- of course- started disliking her.

"My sister is an adult that has the right to choose wherever she wants to eat at. It isn't a must for her to eat with us every single day. Give her some peace and quiet, for goodness sake." Jennie said, gritting her teeth in annoyance.

Hearing so, Lisa tried to hide a snort, suddenly remembering her best friend slash boss. She then whipped out her phone.

Lis
Ayo Rosie! Does Jisoo unnie happen to be with you right now?

Around five seconds later, her phone buzzed with a reply from the said Rosie.

Rosie
Yes. Technically she's not at the moment, but she will be in a few minutes.

Rosie
Why? Are you looking for her?

A grin slowly appeared on Lisa's face as she read Chaeyoung's messages. She took a sip of her latte, then continued the conversation.

Lis
No, don't worry. Are you gonna have lunch with unnie?

Rosie
Yes, that's the plan. Did something come up?

Lis
As I just said, don't fret. Enjoy your lunch with your future wife! 😝😝😝

Smirking, Lisa hit send then instantly put away her phone.

Rosie
What the fuck? She's not my future wife!!

Rosie
Lalisa!!!

Rosie
Hey!!! Come back!! She's not my future wife!!

Chaeyoung stared at her phone in disbelief, her mouth slightly agape. Rolling her eyes, she then shook her head lightly. Lisa should thank god that Chaeyoung treated her more of a best friend than a coworker.

"Hey, I'm back!" A happy voice reached Chaeyoung's ears and successfully broke her trance, making her glance at the raven.

"Oh, finally? I thought I would've turned into stone waiting for you." Chaeyoung challenged, earning her a husky laugh from Jisoo.

Seeing how Jisoo's smile finally seemed to reach her eyes, it gave Chaeyoung a strange feeling. Comfort. And Chaeyoung absolutely hated how warmth seemed to seep into her heart. But even so, a gentle smile slowly formed on the lawyer's face.
