Before long, we find ourselves boarding the plane.
This is it. This has been my dream for as long as I can remember.
And now it's finally about to become a reality.
When Olivia and I make it to the boarding cabin, a smiling air hostess with red hair, guides us over to a row of seats.
"These will be your seats for the flight," she confirms, smiling at us.
I gladly thank her and she walks back down the aisle to assist her new coming passengers.
Before I can even draw breath, Olivia bolts for the window seat, as I store the bags in the over head lockers.
"I can't believe this is finally happening!!" she shrieks, excitedly.
"Neither can I!!" I say, mimicking her tone.
This is the first time I've actually felt excitement since we got in the taxi.
I quickly take my seat, in the middle, beside Olivia, just as a man runs into the cabin, apologizing for his unexpected lateness.
At that moment, I don't feel the need to look up, and slip my phone out of my pocket, to check the time.
13.07.
In less than three hours, we will be starting our new journey in life.
As I am about switch my phone off, I hear a deep cough from beside me.
I automatically look up, and am met by a pair of familiar blue eyes.
Oh my god, I think myself, why is he so perfect?"Um, excuse me, is this seat taken?" he asks, pointing at the empty chair, next to me.
He has a deep, strong Californian voice.
I am about to answer him, before I am rudely cut off by Olivia.
"No, no, it's free!" she exclaims, smiling at him, sweetly.
Before Olivia can release another word from her mouth, I fix her with a "you'll be sorry" glare.
She immediately shuts up, and continues to stare out of the window.
The guy takes the seat next to me, pulls out the travel magazine from the chair pouch, and begins to read.
We all sit in an awkward silence for a long time.
I would very much like to talk to Olivia, but I feel very uncomfortable speaking in the presence of the man.
Fortunately, Olivia being Olivia, I don't even have to open my mouth.
"Excuse me, sir," she prompts, leaning over my lap.
He lifts his head up from the book, and smiles at Olivia.
"Yes?"
"Are you Paul Walker, as in the guy from Varsity Blues?"
He smooths his hands through his hair, seeming somewhat embarrassed.
"Yes, yes, I am," he laughs, grinning, showing his perfect teeth.
Olivia sure knows how to wind me up.
"Well, my friend," she says, glancing at me, briefly.
I freeze in my seat, and just want to die right now.
"My friend," she continues,"was saying that you have really nice eyes."
Please, kill me now.
He laughs and comments, " Don't worry, I get that a lot!"
I breathe out with relief and turn to face him.
He smiles kindly back at me, and when Olivia turns away smiling to herself, sneakily slips a piece of paper into my hand.
