Moment - Vierre Cloud
───✱*.。:。✱*.:。✧*.。✰*.:。✧*.。:。*.。✱ ───Felix woke up the next morning feeling like he'd been hit by a truck. His head throbbed, his mouth was dry, and his thoughts were a jumbled mess of the previous night's events. As he lay in bed, everything came rushing back to him, the argument with his mom, storming out of the house, the LSD, and how he ended up straddling Jisung, kissing him, and then kissing him in front of his mom. The memory made him groan, burying his face in his hands. How was he going to face her?
He still had a few hours before Hyunjin was supposed to come over, but the thought of avoiding his mom all morning only made his nerves worse. He forced himself out of bed, brushing his teeth and going through his skincare routine on autopilot. The longer he waited, the more anxious he became, so finally, he decided to face the inevitable and headed downstairs.
As soon as he stepped into the kitchen, he saw his mom leaning against the counter, her arms crossed tightly over her chest. The stern look on her face made his stomach drop.
"Felix," she said, her voice firm. "Can you please sit down?"
His heart pounded as he obeyed, his leg bouncing nervously under the table. He couldn't look at her, couldn't even think about how she was going to react to what she'd seen last night.
"I don't know what to say, Felix," she began, her tone more disappointed than angry, which somehow made it worse. "You yell at me, then go out late after I told you not to, and go to Jisung's doing God knows what, then start kissing his neck? In front of me?"
Felix flinched at her words, guilt gnawing at his insides. He hadn't meant for things to get so out of hand, but now he was trapped, and his mind was scrambling for a way out.
"Lix," she continued, her voice softening slightly. "I need you to be completely honest with me when I ask you this."
Felix's breath hitched. He had no idea what she was about to ask, but he nodded slowly, bracing himself for the worst.
"Are you more distant because you're..." She paused, searching for the right words.
Felix's heart raced. "This is it," he thought. She knew. She knew why he was out late, why he'd been acting so strange.
"...dating Jisung?"
His head snapped up, eyes wide with shock. "WHAT?!" he thought, completely blindsided. Of all the things he'd expected her to ask, this wasn't even on his radar. She knew he liked boys, sure, but dating Jisung? That was the last thing he'd ever considered.
But then, as the seconds ticked by and he saw the concern in her eyes, an idea began to form in his mind. Maybe... maybe this was his way out. If she thought he was dating Jisung, she might not question his actions as much. She wouldn't dig deeper into what he was actually doing with Jisung, or why he was so desperate to get out of the house last night. It could work, it had to work.
Felix swallowed hard, trying to steady his breathing. "Mom..." he began, his voice shaky. "Yeah, I... I guess I've been distant because of that. I just didn't know how to tell you."
His mom's expression softened, a mixture of relief and understanding washing over her face. "Oh, Felix," she sighed, uncrossing her arms and moving to sit beside him. "You don't have to be afraid to tell me these things. I just want you to be happy, and I was worried you were going through something alone."
Felix forced a smile, trying to push down the guilt that threatened to consume him. This lie was the only thing keeping his mom from finding out the truth, and he had to keep it up. "Thanks, Mom. I'm sorry I didn't say anything sooner."
