Ask: What about general hcs of what it would be like to be close to Scout? From how much Scout is willing to trust reader to platonic form of affections or honestly anything revolving around their friendship.

When first meeting Scout, he's extremely forward. It's within his nature to boast and brag about himself, as well as ramble about his interests, that's if he sees that they are, in fact, taking an interest in him. He can take a hint if someone isn't interested in getting to know him and will leave on his own.
Scout is very easily trusting of people if he has established a connection with someone, and he won't take it for granted. Even as mere friends, they'll mean a lot to him even if he doesn't ever say it.
But it becomes obvious when they're his first call when he wants to do something. Perhaps go out together, watch a movie, play baseball, or even teach you if you've never played, or pull a prank on someone. He can very easily become your best friend, just like you are his.
His trusting nature shows when Scout comes to them with a problem. Or perhaps he just wants some general advice. He may even let them in on a secret or two if it's appropriate. He trusts that they won't tell, and he promises he can do the same for them.
Not many people are willing to put up with his immaturity, but it's not something to fault in him. He just sees himself as still young enough to have fun. And if someone isn't bothered by that, Scout is going to tell them that he's surprised about it.
When they've established a close friendship with Scout, he can be very platonically affectionate. Such as small hugs, a pat on the back, and maybe an arm over their shoulders. He loves it if they're the same in return. It really makes him happy.
For Scout, if you've become best friends with him, he finds it very easy to fall in love with them, especially if their friendship is fairly affectionate. He'll silently question whether their feelings run deeper if their hugs linger a little longer, or they sit much closer to him. It makes him feel like a teenager, but he can't help it.
Not many people, especially friends, have treated him so nicely in the past. And if he's finally met someone that is not only a great friend, but also kind to him mutually, he'll not want to give that up. With Scout, you've very easily got a friend for life.
