The Engineer isn't quite sure what drew him to his S/O in the beginning. Perhaps it was their kindhearted nature or perhaps their shyness that he found adorable. Or maybe he felt at ease about his own height around them. But the more he thinks about it, the more Engineer realises that it may just be... them.
While it is partially true that Engineer doesn't feel so awkward about being shorter and slightly chubbier than the rest of the mercs now that he's with his S/O, he still won't tease them too much about it, as he knows how it feels to be the shortest in his friend group. However, there are times he can't help but be a little tease, but he means nothing by it.
Engineer adores his S/O's physique! And if they feel a little insecure about it, Engineer will be damned sure to make them see just how beautiful they truly are. He's on the chubbier side himself so he can sympathise with some of their feelings as there are times when he feels insecure himself.
And his S/O best not even mention about being too heavy... because Engineer can (and will) scoop his S/O off their feet with ease. He chuckles if they're surprised and flustered. He lugs around heavy machinery day in day out. Of course he can lift his S/O.
Being short really doesn't mean that much to Engie. After all, he's says it's about the personality! And with that, Engie will love them no matter what size or shape they are. He dotes on them. Keeps then plenty fed. Gives them all the love and affection that they need and treats them like royalty. They're his everything.
