With Nadwe tucked away in bed, Laff and Wictoria are left for some quality alone time with each other. Since both of them have been busy and tired after their respective jobs, they were thrilled that they could now hang out without worrying about Nadwe with him asleep. The two have been having some light drinks (wine and sparkling water, respectively) and engaging in some banter, just talking about anything that comes to mind.

"Oh, you'll never guess who I saw today as a client." Wictoria smiled as Laff took a sip of his wine, "Really? Who?" Wictoria set her glass down and turned to face Laff. "Your old chief, I think Chalmers was his last name-"

Laff snorted and put down his glass "Oh, THAT asshole." Wictoria giggled. "Yep, he looked really like an ass just meeting him for the first time. Also looked like he aged 30 years, he looked rough." Laff chuckled and leaned back. "Maybe that's because he had to do his job when I quit, that even if he got to keep his job after reporting him for assault-"

"He assaulted someone??"

"Yeah, that someone was me-" Wictoria gasped. "HE ASSAULTED YOU?!" Laff shushed her and giggled, a little tipsy. "Quiet, quiet down, you'll wake Nadwe. But-yeah-during the preparation for the trial he 'proposed' a sexual transaction for him to help me. So I socked him in the jaw and quit on the spot, not really surprised he kept his job, that place was going downhill since he was hired as chief."

Wictoria blinked. "Wow, you have a lot more patience than I do; I would have kicked him in the balls-" Laff snorted and started giggling at the imagery of kicking Superintendent Chalmers in the balls. "I-I should have! He's such a fucking dick; I hated him so much. He was nothing like Hider." He picked up his glass and took another sip as Wictoria looked at him. "I don't think you've ever told me about Hider. Who was he? What happened to him for such a bastard to take his place?"

Laff paused at that question as he slowly lowered his glass, wiping off the slight dribble of wine off his face as he set the glass down, clearing his throat. "He was my superintendent when I started my job at the station. He was super chill with the new people and helpful and kind..." He sort of glanced to the side, not wanting to answer the second part of the question. Wictoria noticed and gently took his hand. "You don't have to answer the second part if you don't want to." Laff turned and looked at her hand holding his and sighed quietly. "...N-No, it's alright...and it happened a long...long time ago, so it's really not that big of a deal...but..."

Riding in one of those fancy cop vans with a handful of other cops, including his superior, was nerve-wracking. They were all being transported to a known meth lab to bust a group of people dealing drugs where other officers were already in a standoff with the people.

Taping his gun in his hand, Laff bounced his leg nervously as he stared at the ground. This was truly a life-or-death situation he was going to. He could very well be shot in the head through his headgear and die instantly. He didn't even tell his friends what he was doing, the only one who knows is Shroobz who works in an office at the station. Would he tell everyone if he died? If he did, would everyone else know how much he cared deeply for every one of them? Well-except for Oompa since he didn't know him that well, but-
