A COUPLE OF HOURS LATER
The BAU jet flew steadily through the night sky, the hum of the engines creating a calming white noise. The team was returning from a difficult case, and the exhaustion was evident on everyone's faces. Papers and files were scattered on the central table, but no one was actively working. The team needed this time to decompress after what they had just been through.
Clara was asleep towards the back of the plane, wrapped in a blanket, her face peaceful despite the turmoil of the past few days. The panic attack she had experienced earlier had taken a lot out of her, and sleep was her body's way of recovering.
Up front, the rest of the team sat around the table, speaking in low tones so as not to disturb Clara.
JJ glanced over at Clara, her concern obvious. "She's been through a lot lately. I'm worried about her," she said softly.
Morgan nodded in agreement, his brow furrowed. "Yeah, she's not herself. It's like she's carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders."
Rossi sighed, his voice filled with the wisdom of someone who had seen it all. "We all have our demons. The trick is not letting them consume you."
Reid, who had been quietly listening, spoke up. "Panic attacks are a sign that something deeper is going on. We need to be there for her, but it's important not to push too hard."
Emily nodded. "She's strong, but even the strongest need support. Maybe we should find a way to let her know we're here without overwhelming her."
Hotch, who had been watching Clara sleep, finally spoke. His voice was calm but firm, the voice of a leader who cared deeply about his team. "Clara's a vital part of this team, and that means her well-being is just as important as the work we do. When she's ready, she'll talk to us. Until then, we make sure she knows she's not alone."
JJ looked at Hotch, gratitude in her eyes. "She needs to know she's not just another agent to us. She's family."
Morgan chuckled softly. "Family takes care of each other, no matter what."
The team fell into a comfortable silence, each of them lost in their own thoughts. The case they had just wrapped up had been particularly brutal, and everyone was feeling the strain. But the unspoken bond between them was strong, and they knew they could get through anything as long as they had each other.
As they neared their destination, Clara began to stir, her eyes fluttering open. She saw her team gathered around the table, their voices low and their expressions serious, but there was an undeniable warmth in the way they interacted.
Clara sat up slowly, rubbing her eyes. She felt a little better, the sleep having done her some good, but there was still a lingering unease in her chest. When she caught Hotch's eye, he gave her a small, reassuring smile, one that told her she wasn't alone.
