(IN THE FBI)

(NO ONE'S POV)

Mingyu felt an unusual nervousness as he entered the department. His usual fun and charming personality seemed to have vanished. This time, he was on edge because his idea had failed for the first time. Wonwoo sensed Mingyu's anxiety, took his hand, and offered a reassuring smile. In that moment, Mingyu felt the stress dissipate as he entered the department.

Gahyeon, seated across the table, was flanked by Jihoon and Soonyoung, with Handong on her left. "You are 10 minutes late" Gahyeon declared, causing a shiver to run down Mingyu's spine.

"We got stuck in traffic," Wonwoo explained when Mingyu couldn't find the words.

"Do I look like I care?" Gahyeon retorted, glaring at Wonwoo, who gulped in fear. Gahyeon then slid a file towards Mingyu, revealing photos of a dead body hanging from a ceiling fan, blood dripping from every part. "Choi Hanseok, owner of Titan Real Estate, found dead in his apartment. Hung from the ceiling fan and shot five times, he died from excessive bleeding and internal hemorrhage. He was discovered the same way as Miss Heejin, with the same white mask."

"And this time, the note says 'I’m the Argus of this generation,'" Soonyoung handed Mingyu the note.

"Who is Argus?" Wonwoo asked curiously.

"He's a famous character in Greek mythology, the servant of goddess Hera. An excellent Watchman, he had eyes all over his body and never fell asleep," Soonyoung explained, leaving everyone wide-eyed.

"What? I watch Greek mythology videos in my free time," Soonyoung defended himself. Jihoon couldn't help but add, "Of course, you have time for everything except us."

"Oh my god, Jihoon, you're still stuck on that matter?" Soonyoung raised his voice unintentionally. Jihoon had had enough and left the meeting, prompting Soonyoung to follow. Mingyu intervened, stopping Soonyoung. "I don't know what happened between you two, but give him some time."

Soonyoung sighed in frustration and returned to his seat. "I should talk to him. I mean, I won’t be biased at all," Wonwoo said and followed Jihoon.

"Solve your personal matters at home, Mr. Kwon. Can we focus on the case?" Gahyeon redirected the attention to Soonyoung. The room fell into awkward silence, broken by Handong.

"So, what does that even mean? Your whole vortex days theory didn’t work at all," Mingyu was silent, noticing one person was missing – Jungkook. "Where is Jungkook?" Mingyu asked.

"So you're avoiding the topic now?" Gahyeon raised her voice a bit. "No, I'm not. Just tell me where he is," Mingyu insisted.

"He went to bring the autopsy report for Mr. Hanseok, so he'll be here in 30 minutes," Soonyoung said, and Mingyu nodded.

Taking a deep breath, Mingyu returned to his seat. "I know my plan failed to catch the killer, but I’m not totally wrong. Choi Hanseok is one of the people who invested in Vortex, and guess on which day he invested?" Mingyu asked.

"Thursday," Soonyoung replied while focused on his tablet.

"So what are you implying here? Because you said the next victim would be the person who invested on Wednesday," Handong questioned.

"Yes, it should have been the Wednesday one. I don’t know how they found out about this unless..." Mingyu stopped. "Unless what?" Handong pressed.

"Unless someone told them about the plan," Mingyu said, and everyone gasped. "So you are trying to say one of us is a traitor," Handong stated.
